The rest of the night went without any further incident. The morning was a somber was they gathered their belongings. Kalysta had awoken during the night an had been sitting in the lobby of the inn for what looked like sometime. She smiled when she saw Darlena and Nobel come into view.
" Where is Phelan at ...?" She asked hopefully.
" He is in Neraik... Nikkii took him there, he made a deal to save us for the time being."
Darlena couldn't look her in the eye as she told her of what happened while she recovered.
" No... we must go after him .... they will kill him."
" Kalysta please understand right now we should honer his wish and get away from here." Darlena looks back to Nobel and Elindar.
" Is the observatory that the gnomes have far from here.. or Elindar could your father give us asylum somewhere."

Nobel looked up at Darlena. It appeared that the dark elf had not slept well, judging by the lines under her eyes. Of course that wasn't surprising -- the confrontation with her mother had been extremely difficult.
At least Kalysta seemed much better. The gnome clerics had given her a strong sleeping potion, so she had been able to regain much of her strength.
Nobel expected that they would be able to make it to the gnome observatory. Her good friend Snafitzer would surely be happy to help. However, it really wasn't a permanent solution.
She knew their best hope was Elindar, and whatever political favors he might be able to call in.

as she was running to find dar, she nearly trips over nobel.::
" dang it anyways, i am sorry nobel. i am not used to your shortness yet.
please tell me where i can find darlena, i need to speak to her immediatly "

The gnome rubbed her forehead, certain she would be wearing a bruise from where Wilkens' knee had struck her. She looked up at the young warrior and frowned.
"Silly human," she huffed. "Darlena is standing right over there, next to Elindar! Tread more carefully next time."

Darlena and Elindar was talking about finding a more permanent solution to what was happening. The sudden thud of Noble hitting the ground got their attention. Wilkens was back again but she looked like something terrible had happened.
" Great I wonder what has happened now."
Darlena put her hand on Elindars shoulder then walked over to see what was troubling Wilkens. Darlena nearley smiled when she noticed that a lump was growing on Nobles forehead.

:: wilkens walks away from the group, making sure she doesnt trip over any other short people.
when she sees that its just dar and herself alone without kal or anyone else near by she looks at dar with tears in her eyes::
" i ran into phelan today, i was in bobble by the water heading to neriak to find shalandra.
phelan is now with them again. he was with another attacking the halflings.
i stopped them after they attacked a few.
phelan now wears a scar from my sword.
do you know why he left our group, why is he with them.
this is tearing me apart, i thought he was our friend.
it was the hardest thing for me to do, to raise my sword against him.
it was even harder than when i took on my sister. "
:: wilkens finally stops talking because she has started crying. all the stress and the emotions finally coming out from the meeting with phelan. ::

Darlena's face sank under the news.
"However, he has mad arrangements with the mage that inhabits the elemental cavern nearby to provide you with the sanctuary you deserve."
The Tier D'al kisses Elindar quickly on the cheek then turns to the winded Wilkens and listens to her tale.

" Hes with them as part of a deal with my mother.. Our lives spared while he serves her house and entertains my cousin."
Darlena put her hand on Wilkens shoulder. Then guides her a bit further away.
" Slyfoot is working on a way to slow or stop Nikkii.. till then we must get out of her reach. As far as Phelan attacking the halflings he must be following orders."
Darlena get a more worried look on her face.
" I don't know what to say to Kalysta yet ... maybe you can your closer than me to her."

" i will tell kal, she will be upset and angry but she knows that i wont lie to her.
she will also be upset that i took my sword to him and i want her to hear that from me.
thank you for telling me dar, i shouldnt have left so early this morning.
i will go and tell kal now. its better we get this over and done with now."
:: wilkens heads towards kal to tell her what she knew and hoped that kal wouldnt kill her for striking phel. ::

:: wilkens stops midstride just in front of nobel.
she doesnt know why she stops, but thankfully she does cause if she had kept going she would have knocked over nobel once again, the gnome quickly steps out of wilkens way with a glare.
she feels a strange sensation, like something is leaving the air.
she turns to find a chair and when she reaches it she sits down.
she looks at all the people around her and wonders what has just happened. ::

" Something wrong Wilkens....." Darlena asked in wonder. Wilkens stayed silent then Darlena felt it too.. a familiar feeling and it wasn't a good one.
"Its Slyfoot again but.. I think its permanent... did she try her plan and fail?"

" She was going to confront Nikkii by herself. She had a plan that restoring her memory might stop her from pursuing us. It was a longshot but she felt that it was necessary."
Darlena turned from Wilkens and started to cry.
" I think Nikkii got her first.. I think I will go with Elindar and get better prepared then I will try my hand at her... Alone."

Darlena starts out toward tethelin to where snafitzers house was. Elindar and Nobel followed her and Darlena turned back to face Wilkens.
" If you still wish to go with me wait a few days while I find out where she might be till then tell Kalysta of Phelan... please."
