you see wilkens staring at the table she is sitting at.
so much has happened to her in the last few days. she has lost her mother and her home. she had to take her sword to her friend. now she doesnt know where sly is or if she is even alive.
she doesnt know what to do or to think. she just wants to give up and walk away.
she just doesnt know if any of what she has seen or has done is worth it anymore.
the pain that she is feeling inside is so strong and she has no one to talk to about it. she has never felt so alone as she does right now.
she wished she had someone to talk to, someone who could understand what she is going through.
she wonders if there will be an end to all of this, and if anything good can come of it but with the way things look right now it looks like a very bleak world to say the least.
and the worse thing to her is she has to tell kal the worst thing in the world. she knows what the pain that kal will go through when she finds out that phel is gone and may not be back. she doesnt even know if kal will be more upset with her because of the attack that phel did on the halflings or her taking her sword to him.
she just hopes that if kal will kill her for attacking phel that she does it fast.
wilkens lays her head down on her arms and silently starts to cry.

Truth be told, Nobel was glad to leave the clumsy human behind them. She regretted not being able to show Darlena more of the incredible clockworks Pfirble had told her about... but then again she knew the dark elf had a lot on her mind.
She trailed behind Darlena and Elindar as they headed towards Tethelin. As always, she admired the effortless strides these elves walked with… it was a grace that she would never know as a gnome.
Nobel wasn’t sure what Elindar had in mind for when they reached his village. As far as she knew, a dark elf would not be a welcome guest, whether or not she was a close friend of the governor’s son. Of course, she had seen times when he used his full bardic charm on someone. None had been able to resist it so far.
The mageling pursed her lips, as the watchtowers of Kara Village appeared in the distance. The first test was close at hand.

Elindar stopped the party a fair distance away from Kara Village, out of sight of the guards. Nobel watched with some trepidation as the elf grasped the hilts of his weapons, seeming to test how quickly they could be loosened from his belt. Darlena was doing likewise.
The gnome sighed then, worried just how much Elindar was prepared to sacrifice. She had already resigned herself to the idea that their carefree traveling days were over. They had thrown in their lot with Darlena, and Nobel was just as determined as Elindar to see things through.
Sometimes she wondered how long a relationship between Darlena and Elindar could last. Both were long-lived races, so that would not be an issue. Yet they walked through a world that could not comprehend such a union. Nobel was surprised that her elf friend had left much of his galvanting ways behind him. She knew he enjoyed the company of many ladies, and that his many admirers felt likewise... but somehow this dark elf shadowknight had worked her way into his heart like none other before her.
Nobel continued to watch her companions, prepared to take her lead from them.
Elindar turned to Darlena, and asked, "Perhaps it would be best if we went around the village?"

" Well.... "
Darlena spoke a few words then she covered herself in a cloak of shadows to hide herself from sight.
" Well my friends I will be right behind you just don't act like I'm with you till where past this place... I think they would remeber my first trip here."

Nobel smiled, happy that Darlena had chosen an unobtrusive way to pass through the village. The little mage moved up to stand beside Elindar, careful not to bump into the hidden shadowknight.
"All right," Nobel said. "Let's go before that spell of yours runs out, my Lady."

wilkens has stopped crying but hasnt raised her head from her arms when she feels something land on the table, landing partially on her fingers.
she raises her head and sees parchment lying on the table and she looks around to see who could have dropped it there.
there is no one close enough to have dropped it on the table.
she reaches for the parchment and opens it and starts reading.
My dear Sister, I write to you with a quivering hand. I ask your forgiveness for not telling you sooner, but I could not find the strength to tell you, for it was far to fresh in my mind to be reasonable about it, but....our mother is dead. I am so very sorry to have to write this to you, but I must go on a journey now for my own purposes. I have encluded a map to our mother's grave. There may be ways to bring her back, but I advise you not to do so, for I know what it is like to go to the next world, only to be ripped back to this horrid place. Let her rest in peace. I bid you farewell for now sister, take care of yourself. Sly
as wilkens finishes reading she feels a sense of loss and she realizes that sly is definately dead and she wont be coming back.
she folds the parchement and puts it in her pouch and heads for the door, forgetting that she was supposed to stay until kal showed up.
nothing mattered to her at the moment, she had to go to her mothers grave and make sure that is done properly.
that is a good enough excuse to get away from people, for if anyone dares to get near her right now she doesnt know how she will react.
she worries that she will do more harm than she can handle right now.
as she leaves klick a non her thoughts travel to the past, when she was a young child before her sister lost her mind.
she sees herself running around in the desert with my sweet playing tag and her laughing at her pets antics.
wilkens walks right past the coachman and heads out into the wilderness.
not even noticing the most brilliant sunset that has ever been seen.
her mind is immersed in memories, for now reality does not exist for her.

Darlena could almost smell the hate from the elfs as they passed through the village. She thought of how this was the place she met Elindar and how he had stopped her from killing the very ones she is was passing by. Shortly after they was past the village and the spell dissappeared. Darlena notices she had a letter in her hand now from Slyfoot. She opened it an read it. Nobel walked over to her to see what she had. " So she didn't die and was successful in curing my mother.... but what conditon is she in now? And a journey......"
Darlena handed the note to Noble then moved to Elindar's side. She was already uneasy about getting this close to the elven city of Fayspires and the smell of hunters was in that direction. This could be bad the hunters seemed to have made their influence to here now.
" Umm how much further to this obsevatory...?"

Keyra decided to go back home by way of rivervale, she didn't spend alot of time with those little people before she headed to Fayspire. As she neared the fayspire coach a host of races congregated at the stables she also noticed some fellow hunters standing guard by the stable. One thing did stand out to her was the fact that a female barberian was there too, she didn't look old either so what is she doing this far south. Keyra quickly gathered some flowers from the area.

" Not too far from here lady." Nobel said with a smile.
Finally they come into view of Fayspires and the coaches stables.
" Good .. but there is one thing that bothers me now. I smell hunters lots of them..."
Darlena cloaked herself in shadows once more.
" I'll go around the coachmen's area and meet you on the otherside of this hill.... don't keep me waiting too long."

Keyra took a quick look around the coachman's area the other hunters was checking everyone that came into get a horse or that was returning them. One saw her and waved her over to them.
" Keyra why are you back in Fayspire? Have you ever finished your trial?" one of them asked.
" Yes but I wanted to say hello to my parents grave before I headed back."
" Still sore about that huh.. well if you need anything well be here for the remainder of the day."
Keyra looked away and caught a glimpse of what looked like Elindar and what looked like a gnome in the distance and something else but couldn't make out what it is.

" I will see if he still remebers me."
Keyra walked over toward Elindar and Nobel. It seemed as though they didn't even see her approach, but when she was close enough she grabbed Elindar by his tunic and spun him toward her.
" Hello rich boy I'm all grown up now .... will you pay me any attention this time?"

Nobel's eye went wide at the sight of the rebellious elf. She knew that this one worked very closely with Darlena's mother. She might even have become Nikkii's adopted daughter.
She was relieved that Darlena had avoided a run-in with Keyra. The green-haired rogue was becoming a fine hunter, and would probably be a formidable opponent for even one such as Darlena.
Nobel watched nervously as Keyra confronted Elindar. She didn't know the full history between them, other than they had known each other as children. Her biggest fear at the moment was that Keyra would follow them to where Darlena waited.

" Don't you have anything to say for yourself.... for me?"
Keyra looked towards Nobel and gave her a wicked smile.
" So you got bored with elf women and took to the lagre headed gnomes for you pleasure I see."

Somehow Nobel's eyes went even wider at Keyra's words.
"Oh my!" she said, as a smile crossed her face. "My dear Keyra, Elindar and I have been friends for many seasons but we've never been *that* sort of friends!"
The gnome began to laugh heartily, much to Elindar's displeasure. Keyra too began to chuckle, taking pleasure in the bard's obvious discomfort.
