I was just wondering what everyone's all-time favorite RPG's were. I'd add MMO's into this catagory but since this is an EQOA forum, I'm sure that EQ would hit the top of everyone's list My all time favorite would be a close call between Dragon Warrior (NES) and Breath of Fire III (PS)

My favorite game is Dungeon's and Dragons (pen and paper) Mike Thrower DM. I had a friend who was an artist and a great writer who DMed us, by far the best RPG experience.
As far as computer...Forbidden Lands MUD circa 1991. Baldur's Gate II.
MMO = Massively Multiplayer Online
I also liked Marvel Superheroes, Gamma Worlds, Star Frontiers, and Traveller pen and Paper RPGs
Finally I also enjoyed Zork I and II for my Commodore 64 and Telengard and Temple of Apshai.

okie, umm can we add live action rpgs too, cause in basic rpg i like d&d but in live action i like vampire of the masquarade the best. i make a really good malkavian, not very good bruhaj, which is strange cause they are basicly vampire warriors. anyways, thats all i can think of at the moment of time.

crap that's a hard question - I know I should go with one of the Final Fantasy games (IV or VI) but honestly they were better done but there were a couple of other games that really captured my attention for no real explanable reason.
Warsong for the Sega Genesis - I can't say what it was that made me like this game. I just played the crap out of it - and still do.
Phantasy Star II also for Sega Genesis - I know Phantasy Star IV was done better but I just liked II better. Once again - no real reason - I just liked it. Rudo kicks ass.

I'm pretty much a newbie to RPGs. I played a few D&D games on my old Commodore 64, and a handful of paper and dice campaigns.
Zug and I have also played a bit of Fable -- he's going the good path (yawn - j/k) while I seem to be chaotic neutral.

live action role playing, or known as LARP, is where you create your characters and you play them yourself, you are the character.
i will give you an example of what i mean. my very first LARP char was a malkavian called Baby. a malkavian is a vampire who is crazy, well to the rest of the world they are, they see and hear things that most other vampires dont see or hear. Baby was a split personality, the main part of the character was a 5 year old girl who carried a teddy bear around who she called teddy and wore flannel night gowns and a soother. when she was turned she regressed back into baby hood. she never did anything wrong nor did she fully understand what she was. whenever she fed on a human she would switch to her other personality and when she came back she would blame the death on teddy.
no one met teddy until after Baby turned an infant into a vampire. teddy was a teenager who wore black leather coat and was tough as nails. my malkavian was the youngest aged character in the city, the only other char that was near her age was a 6 year old, but he was cursed to stay young. bout a year later he got rid of the curse and he grew up. being a child vampire is very difficult to play.
there are 3 groups of people that i have been a part of in the past, all based out of 3 different cities. one was in the city where i used to live, one is north of that city and one is in the capital of my province. i havent played in quite awhile, i havent heard of a game set up here in moose jaw.
i hope i answered the questions you may have. if not ask away im always happy to talk masquarade.

Hmmm lets see For pen and paper has to be Traveller the world is just so big and I'm an engineer so the ship building and planet building is great.
For console RPG I'm gonna go with FFII (in america, FFIV in Japan). I think that was the one where I got attached to the characters the most although I love FFIX. The console versions of Shadowrun were great.
For computer I loved the Zork games and Eye of the Beholder although Neverwinter Nights might take their place.
As far as MMOs go right now its FFXI but my first love in this genre was Dark Ages by Nexon (politics, player controlled religions, even a player controlled in game university)
The shadowrun MUD is still my favorited MUD

Hmmm... never thought to add LARP to the list. Let's see... I've only done 2. Vampire: The Masquade and NERO. I like NERO much better by far, less bites on the neck Shadowrun is an awesome RPG, loved it for both SNES and Sega as well as PnP. Comadore 64? Wow, I thought I was old...
