speaking of old school - for those of you that dont remember Adventure. I used to play the hell out of that too. If you're not sure this will jog your memory. www.simmphonic.com/programming/flash.htm#note: I have to stop posting while I'm doing other stuff - I kept typing job instead of jog - more than once even

lol, I say old 'cause I played Comadore 64, and Atari as a kid! Loved Adventure, BTW
I'd have to say my all time favorite PnP RPG is Teenagers From Outer Space (Yes Phelan, roll those eyes) No other PnP RPG can let you go absolutely nuts, scream like a girl at the top of your lungs, pull a 30 foot bazooka out of a bikini and laugh so hard you shoot soda out your nose at your GM!!
Anymoo...

And I thought Gaien had made me feel old, LOL!! Let me tell you, my young patawan...
I had a Commodore 64, oh yes, and even a dot matrix printer to go along with it!! It used those large floppy (truly floppy) 5" disks to save stuff since it had no hard drive. I was the master of all EPYX Olympics games. I can't remember what other games I had for it... some old D&D stuff I think?
Then one day, I got my 33 Mhz 486 computer and thought I was in heaven! I used Netscape Navigator and Eudora back then, and I LIKED it!
Did I mention that I used to walk to school in the snow each day, barefoot, uphill... both ways?

A yes, one of my favorite games for comp is an old DOS game called Siege, I used to play that on my 80-88 and the install disks were the old 5 1/4 floppy's. I feel old now...

Ahhh old storage format memories
I used to have an Atari 800XL which booted with a Ready: prompt, and you had to do everything in old BASIC (line numbers, Goto and all) It accepted cartriges. And had no hard drive. There was no printer available for it only a plotter. The only way you could save any of your work was on audio tape.
Yep thats right audio tape. It encoded the information on standard audio tape. Whats worse is that it actually hade a speaker on the storage device so that the whole time you were loading from the tape you had to listen to this horrible modem like sound.
Later a single sided low density floppy drive was available for it.
It also had a modem. The modem was a speaker and a microphone and you had to set your telephone on top of it and the data was actually transmitted by sound. Obviously there was a lot of error involved in this.
The modem didn't get a lot of use though because there was no internet as we know it. Just BBS stuff at universities. But I did get to play a crude translation of MUD2 and fell in love at the age of 8.

Ta me og. Ta Gaien sean. I am still staying with Zelda. It is still ranked among the best RPG's of all time, and I agree. To Kyrinn: I am not saying the actual character of Zelda was my all time favorite. I am saying the game was Link rocks, Zelda is a whimp.

Has anyone tried "City of Heroes"? I hear it keeps getting rave reviews as an awesome RPG. Zug also told me they're being sued by Marvel

I also hear they were getting sued, but haven't tried it yet. I hear it has fantastic character customization.
