Alien vs. Predator -- who wins and why?
Methinks the Aliens have an advantage. They remind me of a mass of army ants -- stupid, yes, but there is strength in numbers.

Aliens hands down, if the governors could take down the Predator then the Aliens should have no problem!

i think that the aliens will win but im pullin for predators hopin that maybe with there smarts they can woop the aliens

I don't plan on seeing the movie in the theatres when it comes out. I'm also not very framiliar with the back story but I did play the old video game in the arcades a couple times, and I seen at least the first couple of movies in either series. With my limited knowledge the idea of aliens vs. predator shouldn't occur outside of predators hunting trophies on an alien infected world.
The predators apparantly operate in small groups, and the aliens need plenty of host bodies to propegate the species. Because of this I dont see any reason for aliens to be interested in the predators. The predators also seem to know more about how the aliens operate than the humans in the first alien movie (based on the alien skull in the predators trophy room in the frist movie, suggesting that they had hunted them before). It is doubtful that a similiar situation would occur on a predator ship. Then again that fat cop in predator 2 kicked the predators ass suggesting they're not as bad as they could be.
In the event of an alien infection on the predator home world (assuming they have such a thing) it would be all about the numbers. If the predators have some sort of unguarded or lightly guarded residential district, I could see an alien infection quickly growing out of control. Of course if they were noticed quickly enough the aliens could be put down easily before they were able to spread very far.
That still leaves the question of how would they get there? In Aliens it was the work of corrupt officials actualy infecting people on purpose. In Alien they picked up the alien from another infected ship/world, i forget which. Because of the way the predators were portrayed in the first couple of movies I don't believe they have the same value structure as humans do. So would a predator try to infect other of it's kind like humans would? Maybe it was perpetrated on them by someone else. If it were, then by whom and what was the motive?
I just can't see any good reason for a large scale predator vs alien conflict. If there is and I'm missing it, then it boils down to the numbers. The predators have the technology for eleminating all life in a rather large radius. I highly doubt that the predator self destruct technology actualy has to be used while wearing the device, and I would bet they could use that technology to make some serious nukes. Still if the aliens were left unchecked for a long enough time the end result would have to be carpet bombing the whole planet, which I would certainly chalk up as a loss on the predator side.

Awwwww, Jwiz, you had me all worked up there for a micro second. My guess is that niether will truely wipe the other out. I mean, cummon, this story line has been going for everrrrrrr, what director would want to destroy that. I think I will save my money for the next Harry Potter movie and hear what happens through the network of vocalization.
