A guide to fishing
Countless hours are spent upgrading one's gear simply to gain a few stat points. But what if I told you that you could add 175 extra points to your stats? Anyone lv 43 and over can achieve this simply by fishing. Each environment type drops 2 stat increasing fish. One is lv 43 and the other is lv 48(when using lv 41+ bait). Once consumed, one of your stats is increased by 25 for a duration of 13 minutes. Up to 7 different stats can be enhanced simultaneously for a total of 175 extra stat points. Now I know, fishing is boring to most and costs alot of money as well. I will save you money by giving you a list of every lv 40's fish and where to catch it. Its a tough job but someone has to do it (makes another cast) =)
Lv 43 "Strong Stickleback" - 25 CR, Arctic regions (Halas, Zentars)
Lv 48 "Xectia Ballfish" - 25 Str, Arctic regions
Lv 43 "Shorthorn Scullpin" - 25 Agi, Deepwater regions (Qeynos, Freeport)
Lv 48 "Longfellow Bream" - 25 Sta, Deepwater regions
Lv 43 "Root groper" - 25 Sta, Forest regions (Surefall Glade)
Lv 48 "Cazic's Child" - 25 Wis, Forest regions
Lv 43 "Mirror Carp" - 25 Sta, Grassland regions (Murnf, Blackwater)
Lv 48 "Undead Carp" - 25 Cha, Grassland regions
Lv 43 "Fighting Dogfish" - 25 Wis, Volcanic regions (Klick, Neriak, IoD)
Lv 48 "Golden Puffer" - 25 Dex, Volcanic regions
Lv 43 "Crescent Gambusia" - 25 Fr, Warmwater regions (Oasis)
Lv 48 "Valliant Killifish" - 25 Int, Warmwater regions
Yes, I know that makes 3 Sta fish and I didnt list the swamp regions. That is because a bugg has caused the swamps to drop the same identical fish as the forest region. The inscription on Cazic's Child even claims that the fish comes only from that region (swamp, forest). But even though the name is the same. these fish dont stack together.
You also might be curious as to how I learned about fishing on the IoD. Well I paid 10k to go fish there. Talk about exotic fishing trips =) Its a tough job, but someone has to do it. (grabs his fishing pole and starts humming the Andy Griffith tune)
