there are a bunch of normal mobs running around, that dont always drop rares, like
Wickerman Flesh Crawler Virulent Blades Dead Rider Deadrot Breath Stealer and some fish..forgot names, i think it was ray of agony, and devourers
the mobs are all different
each of the regular little mobs has a rarer, and always drops a rare or two, named version of itself
Wickerman - Festering Jack Flesh Crawler - Contagion Virulent Blades - Bloodletter Dead Rider - Reaver of Graumord Deadrot - Impale Breath Stealer - Zin the Desiccator
Then there are the 3 golems, Fright, Terror, and Dread that spawn in the castle thing, and a shark that spawns in the water i think east of zins normal spawn, named Megaladon
theres also a named set for all the classes, full set of armor for each, some pieces good, some pieces complete **bleep** Bard - Minstrel Cleric - Templar Druid - Nature Walkers Rogue - Assassin Ranger - Forest Guardian Monk - Sensei Shaman - Primal Warrior - Gladiator Necro - Warlock Mage - Summoner Ench - Beguilers or w/e that **bleep** name is Wizard - Evokers Shadowknight - Dark Night Paladin - Holy Knight

Forget everything you think you know about con/color coding. If it's lblue, your grp is gonna have to fight fairly hard. If it is dblue, your group better be fairly well put together. If it cons white unless the group is stellar you probably can't do it - might even give two groups a rough time. And if it cons yellow or red, better have a full on raiding party.
The best advice I can give anyone about IoD is DIE SAFE. If you pull more than of anything and you do not have a full on raid force chances are you are dead. So if it looks like everyone is gonna die, run off and die in a safe spot so your corpse wont be camped by a mob when you try to rez.

Lots of good advice in this thread so far. Add to that that the single biggest prep you could make with gear.stats is high AR. You should also be prepare for poison protection. Even stepping on cockroaches/spiders - the small ones running around will give you a poison tic. They are not connable and not killable just part of the hazardous environment.
Adds will usually spell death to newbies and small forces. Pull far away from main group to die so that you can rez safely. The mobs will camp you so always check before rezzing. Carry food with you to make yoru post rez recovery faster and save wear and tear on healers who may also have died. Use the environment wisely for protection (rocks, statues, trees) to aovid AOE's. Have healers and casters stand far back as possible to heal and keep eye out of adds coming. Aggro areas are huge and mobs super sowed.
If you have undead debuffs or nukes USE THEM. Very effective.
Do not kill the citizens or wandering marionette things as they will give you bad bad faction here.

It is a small island behind the temple with the pillars that you have likely already visited while questing.
The "ghoul" is Norrach, Cazic Thule's pimp. 10K to die and you are on your way. Upon arriving you will be on a raft offshore. Check the water for if there are Ray of Agony or Devourers swarming near the raft you will increase your chances of dying before you reach shore and they can chase you up on shore and the poison tic is troublesome.
I try to have ensure I still have SoW active and when I arrive, I carefully turn around to face the mountain side (short side to shore) as opposed to trying to make it to shore with the docks. Dive shallow, swim fast. Follow shoreline to town. If you follow path you will come to the Sirens (3 gypsy wagons) located just above the "pit". Constantly scan and give all mobs a wide berth as their aggro is huge and they are super sowed.
