Who I most admire!

For those of you who don't know...don't read the main boards (or can't anymore in my case at least from work), but one of our GM's Cephius (aka Severedamage, Storyteller....) has been giving the general populace quests of his own design. Through this, there has been a few naysayers that have tried to thwart his efforts but to no avail. Although I have yet to witness Storyteller's persecution, I have respected the manner by which SD has carried himself, having grouped with him for countless hours...I have seen him at his best and his worst... (as he has me)...having said this... The manner of selflessness he has shown in the creation, running, and farming for rewards for those who complete these quests has gone beyond that of a Game Master in a pen and paper game...he has done all of this within the boundaries of the game which has taken hours and hours more than as a dev. Having been an IMP on a MUD during my college years I have created similar quests, but I could just create things or alter the fabric of the world as I saw fit (ie if i needed a level 22 spell caster I could just make one in two minutes)....SD doesn't have that ability and thus has had to take an exponentially longer amount of time to do what he does. Anyway I just wanted to take a moment to publicly acknowledge his work and to also urge you all to get in touch with him to take part in these fun events....and to acknowledge the wonderful way he and the rest of you have represented us all to the general community, where we are perceived as both a friendly (and fairly knowledgeable lot) as well as being positive members of the community!

I completely agree, many many thanks to Severe for persevering through this and still maintaining a great outlook on the game. It seems some people don't know how to react to selfless actions, judging by what some folks have done. I think most people would be discouraged by this, and might even bag the whole thing.

Instead Severe is continuing on with these quests... and is even jumping around excitedly at the thought of taking down some dreadnaughts! ;D

Believe it or not, the one year anniversary of the beginnings of the RPA will be upon us in July. For those of you who were there at that time, you'll remember the struggles (and drama!!) we had. I'm glad we've kept going on our course -- people have come and gone but I think we've become stronger and better. Thanks to you all for sticking with us and making the RPA what it is today!
