Hail Adventurers!
Level 60 epics are coming and here's some basic info about them.
These quests are meant for players whose toons have attained level 60. The 3 tokens from the 50+ side quests will not be a prerequisite to these quests. You will not need them. These epics are not a continuation of the previous epic storyline.
Epics will be given to adventurers based on their archetype and alignment. That is, epic categories are: Good Caster, Evil Caster, Good Priest, Evil Priest, Good Melee, Evil Melee, Good Tank, or Evil Tank.
These quests are meant to be long and as such will take place over several updates. Specifically, the epics will be broken down into 3 epic-sodes. There will be approximately 2-3 weeks between the release of each epicsode.
Completing an epic results in obtaining both a new ability and a new weapon. The ability will be a continuation of the current ability lines.
The epics will be preceeded by a kickoff event. This event is scheduled to begin on April 28th. This event will provide clues to the upcoming epics. I am not going to go into any more detail than that because I want you experience things as they unfold.
But I will say this: There is a foul wind blowing over the land. You feel a pit in your stomach. It gives you an uneasy feeling. There is work to be done, but someone - or some thing - has been busy already. What lies ahead is unknown, and this is just the beginning.

As you can imagine, there's much speculation about these quests (and complaining, which is funny considering the quests aren't even in yet).
Here's what I'd like to see:
- One part of the quest which must be soloed, much like the bard 49 epic (and others) quest. There should be no option to bring someone doing the same quest with you. The mob you fight should be tailored to your class -- for example, an undead mob for clerics, a mob with unknown high resistances for a mage, etc. I think this would be a great challenge for everyone. Sure you can gather 20 people to do most parts of an epic, but something where you have to rely on your own skills and strategies would be awesome.
- Make the evil quests truly evil. There isn't enough evil content, with most quests being skewed towards good. Attaining your 60 epic should make you the penultimate evil badass, and so the quest should reflect that.
- Lord Chardith and Parathoir were a lot of fun to take down. Considering they have 8 epic quests lines (by archetype), make 8 epic quest "boss mobs" that will require a large force to bring down.
