I just switched from a slow dialup (26.4 or less) to IDSL 144k.
I have had no problems EXCEPT, when I am in group I LD. I have no trouble farming or coaching.
Any ideas?
The PS2 has it's own IP, the firewall has been pulled down, all ports are open for it.
I just don't understand why the difference.
Is anyone else playing on an IDSL connection?

I used to have similar problem with going ld about every 20 minutes but i was with comcast and i had a router. the way i fixed was by downlosding an update for the router and that worked fine havent had an ld since ( but sometimes i wish i would)

Ok, here's what I have found so far...
EQOA is a bandwidth hog... it will take whatever it can get. fighting in grp requires the most bandwidth.
When EQ grabs the ALL of the available bandwidth, the packets start dropping, which causes the LD.
I need to find a way to tell my router to limit the bandwidth available to the PS2.
It worked great on as little as 14.4k, just want to limit it to 100k or less.

I'm not sure how it can be remedied. We switched to Comcast just over a year ago and have had very few problems since then. Check that a squirrel hasn't chewed partway through your phone or cable line -- believe it or not we had big problems at our old apartment because of that!

I actually am a DSL technician...
The cable is new, only a week old.
It is in the bandwidth utilization. just haven't figured out how to limit the port on the dsl router.
