Is it me or have the official boards (never an exceptionally academic place to begin with) gone to immature flame town in a hurry the last few days?

there was an incident tonight involving the "N" word that raised alot of Cain. I don't know why people think they can just throw that word around.

I agree, Hakiko. It seems no one monitors them anymore. I rarely check out the main section - usually just Roleplaying and Off topic. And the server boards just seem to be good-bye posts.

Yes, when Bordael got promoted/fired/reassigned it became apparent that the main boards would suffer. In fact when Sporkfire made his introductory post he even said that he would be community manager for eqoa and planetscape (or whatever it is called) I do use the boards when I need to look things up but rarelyy browse the threads anymore, in fact a thread I used to participate on (the Lost) thread in the non game boards degraded to five posts of who was the most "doable" at which time it became quite a waste of my time. I do believe that the game is not #1 priority to SOE, and that their is evidence to support this on the servers (on FH I believe that their has been quite a bit of deflation on auctions) though I do meet alot of newbs still and it is still on the shelves in most of the local game stores (as well as Sears). I don't think they are going to shut the servers down anytime soon, I do believe that they may take the model they seem to have taken with PAL servers when do decide to no longer support the game. Anyway that's my opinion for what it's worth. I like to look at the bright side...once we all gain high levels we won't need to camp mobs like Vox for weeks ;D

Indeed. I am reminded of Ranelen, the master of Shadows of the Anarchists on Marrs Fist. His opinion was that everyone has a right to see the "high end" stuff, and would allow folks from other guilds to tag along on raids and such. It was at their own risk, of course, but I've always though this was a very classy thing to do.
