Is anyone out there considering getting a wereform or werehunter for their characters? Do you have such a form with another character? From a playing point of view -- how do you like the form? Are the stats helpful? Have you had to deal with werehunters in some of the towns? From a RP point of view -- might make for some interesting storylines. I've got the bear form down, but the lionwere looks pretty cool

From a playing point of view, lionwere really helps me out. Gives me stats where I need them, and has cheap mods.
From an RP point of view, its been difficult. Some of the friends that RP with my monk wont because he's lionwere coughsuncoughflacoughre. Its really enhanced my RP with other people, though.

Very interesting, thanks for the replies. Jwiz -- so you get improved stats as a Were-hunter but is there any change to your form? Do you get to carry around a bazooka or something? Greco -- I'm glad to here that overall it sounds like it has enhanced your RP. I don't know how I could work it into this character's life. It would almost have to be "I was wandering in the wilds one day when suddenly this lionwere came up and bit me on the butt!" Hmmm.... nothing glamorous there.

Have you guys crunched the numbers to see how it works out getting a Form and an MC?
The thing holding me back is CM expenditure.

I've been wondering about the CM cost as well. I've pretty much figured out the ones I want to buy -- how much more would I need to spend to get a wereform as well?
Has anyone bought any of the class masteries specific to the wereform? Looks like they get some nice resistance boosts.

Well, here's my 2 cents.
I don't like were-forms, I think they ruin the game from an RP standpoint. Sure if I was playing a game van helspein or something then Rping a were would be cool.
I just don't see how anyone would knowingly infect themselves with lancanthorpy. Yes I think they make a character stats cool. But nothing turns me off more than to see a wereform running around in braod daylight in a town.
Perhaps one day my characters will come to accept it, but until then I don't like them much at all.
I would have much prefered them to be a race of thier own with the different types being the classes and the proper factions for towns and cities. But such is the game....and I'm just not into that part of the game at all.
Yes, me and bubbs made a decision about not grping "Knowingly" with someone who is a were. If we were just going to play the game to level or xp, then were forms are certainly a good addition.

The worst part (here comes the continuity police) is that anybody who xped at the werebandits knew. They only transformed at night. It would have been cooler if the "infected" changed automatically at night and then back "automatically" at day, and were defenseless during the transformations. Furthermore I am going to stay away from Greco and Cephius since it seems they are coming down with something

Having just finished the last book of R.A. Salvatore's "Icewind Dale" series, I think there is a reason to do it. Power. In the book, there was a group of thugs affected by lycanthropy, becoming wererats by night. This increased strength helped them overpower the other criminal elements in the town. So how does this possibly apply to EQOA? Well, I suppose from an RP perspective, the lure of increased power would be appealing to some. Ceph -- I believe it would never appeal to your character because of the associated decrease in intelligence. Then you look at a character like Kyrinn, one who only serves himself and might see this as a good thing (stat-wise and RP-wise). I agree wholeheartedly that these transformations should only occur at night. It makes no sense seeing these folks romping around in their forms during the day

I seriously would get a were-form if I could squeeze it CM wise but I don't see myself having the points.
As for the RP reasons, well POWER is a pretty good reason from Kyrinn's stand point. It's always been Kyrinn's intent to be strong enough to exist without paying homage to house or guild. He would see a form as a way of increasing his power and bring him closer to his goal.
As for people in forms running around town. I know there are were hunters and some guards will attack infected characters. I personnaly wouldn't do my shoping as a werewolf but if I had a form, I would certainly use it for kicking ass in town.
