I don't know if this is just happening to me or not but I've been noticing that more than half of the time I'm tanking for a group the Master Looter guy logs right when the group looks like it is breaking up, leaving me standing there with a fat repair bill and empty pockets. It's not just me that gets the shaft either, casters use drinks and melees bang up their weapons and everyone takes a hit now and then (at least when I'm tanking ;D ). The creeps bail with everyones share of the loot.
I used to feel like I was over paid taking all the stacks and making more than double my repair costs while the rest of the group divides up the non-stacks. Now I take it all without offering to split the Tunar after repairs because the last 3 groups I was in took off with all the swag. So now the good groups that I'm in are getting penalized because everyone else was an ass hole.
I would hunt down every last one of the crooks and break their bloody fingers had I the time and rescources.

Amen!
Hate to rub salt, but that's why glad my wife ML's so that I know it fair split at the end of the grind, unless with other friends I know do the same. The few times I have been in random groups I have the same experience as you Kyrinn. Sucks! Everyone should make some tunar!
Oops forgot that Rhab was the one logged in. This was Zug btw.

On a related note. Do you know of any decent farming areas for my level? Between crafting and repairs I'm always broke. I don't know how you guys do it.

Kyrinn, we have the fortunate situation that I generally act as the master looter for Zug. So there's no risk of logging out and leaving him with nothing. Also, we've made some good buddies and when we group with them, at the end of the grind we return to Freeport and split the loot evenly. In my time playing EQOA, this does not happen often but it is the most equitable way of doing things. If you come to group with some people regularly, this would be a good method.
As for farming areas, Zug probably has some good ideas. I think you're about the right level for the non-Tesh hill at Runnyeye. If you go past the bandits, past the halfling watch tower (good ole Deputy Meeplo), you'll approach the one end of Runnyeye. Further along there's a hill on your right with several goblins, including one novice. I'm not sure, they might still be light blue to you but some may be green. They tend to drop a lot of gems, decent rares, and stacks.
Otherwise the darkwood goblins might not be a bad choice, and you'll need the faction there for one of the 25 quests.
Around levels 5 and 6, you can start selling the crafted stuff for a bit of a profit. Also craft with the "less popular" gems and sell to the merchant -- I've always had a tough time selling a weapon with a Wisdom stat for example. Sell some gems on the auction.
I hope that helps!
Oh and as for those folks you log with all the loot -- put em on ignore!!

At your level Runnyeye is definately the best. The camp that Rhab speaks of only has one goblin shaman and all of the melees are cake. Destroy all weps you get, wear crafted armor with the higher durability. If you go by yourself you will fill up on gems/rares before you hit 99 warbeads. In a few levels the upper camp on the west side of MossMouth will produce similar results. They also will be LB in both cases to you so you will pick up some xp as well. And yes, we have been lucky to make a pair of very good friends on the server (who even go to 100% cm to let us catch up) who are ok with killing lotta DB-(not deep) reds so that the tunar collected in an equal split more than keeps up with repair bills. If u have a petter (nec, mage, or enc) those are best to farm with since you can make a train then pick off LB mobs one by one. Oh yea at your level the wildlife around Wyndhaven is good farm spot as well. They are thick and you can sell at wynd and coach to Honjur quik when you fill with gems/rares.

Ugh, and to think I grinded for no less that 4 hours straight at Merkans in Odus - breaking 2 full sets of armor and three weapons. When the ML logged with all the loot the healer took pitty on me and covered repairs for me though. I guess all the ass holes come out at night. I'm going to keep tract of these guys from now on lest anyone else get screwed by the offenders.

One way that might keep you from getting gipped so much is ask for trading the stacks when the group is taking a break for mana/buffs. I do that so that when everyone decides to split, no one forgets about the loot, and it gets distributed nicely. I feel for you though. My other main (I say other because she was my main untill I happened upon you guyses, to bad she is on DH) is a lvl 30 eru pally. I know all about those sad tanking experiances. Another way I started to save up some cash is gem trading. Start another character to buy and sell gems. This is a time consuming venture though, and the profit is slow.

I guess all the ass holes come out at night. "They mostly come out at night.....mostly" ~Newt (Aliens) That really sucks my friend, you could do what this guy did to me once when I was playing one of my Shamans. We run out to the Ice Giant Refs and get ready to go when the Pally says. "I will be taking all the loot since I do all the work!" Rhabuka came over to see coz she didn't believe it. I left immediately even though I didn't care about loot. There is a guy 'Kubrius' on the main boards charging to transfer Tunar. If he builds a good enuff rep. for this I might transfer a few million from MF (I love farming with my enchanter, I go to Wynd train 20 mobs on my golem and then just blast away, I don't get hit 20 20th level mobs in 3 minutes lol ez dough) where I might be able to payroll you a bit... it's the crafting that's killing you. If you ever decide ta give it up I am a 7.3 wep 7.9 armorer now...and Rhab is 7 something in both. Would be willing ta meet ya before 12:15EST any night ta give you any equip you order.

Farming isnt such a big deal, I'm deffinately taking the long path with this character. I'm pretty solid solo, and I make loot off that, I just need to find more steady group members that I can trust.

One way that might keep you from getting gipped so much is ask for trading the stacks when the group is taking a break for mana/buffs. The only problem with that is I don't ever stop for a break. If the healer needs a rest I use bloodwasp and veil of death to keep me going. When the DD's and Casters need to rest I use strikes to deal the damage.

The only problem with that is I don't ever stop for a break. That's absolutely true...if it aint for my own biological reasons...it is pull pull pull
