A tale of the first established folks of Norrath and what nearly tore them apart. Today the world of Norrath is known by its great and vast reaching cities of Freeport and Qeynos. But long ago many different cities and communities existed and flourished. From the stout hearted dwarves of Mordhaim to the wicked reaches of Neriak where the dark elves called home. Yes Freeport and Qeynos both existed and each was great unto their own, in fact they were very much so a center of power and influence as they are today. But at the forefront leading the way, the heart of it all some said, was the elves. In Tethelin they held a nearly hidden encampment, a city amoungst the trees. And in Fayspires rested there mighty and magnifcent castle. The Spires as it was known to the world and passer by for its mighty pristine white pillars, 6 of which peering out into every direction. Yes the elves held great power and influence but the horizon was darkening and the seas grew angry and perilous.
Prosperity was turning to war, as large guilds of vast numbers and sheer raw power begin to establish themselves with the different factions of Norrath. The elves became a target for the amassing evil forces and so they sent forth one of their heroes, Fannen the proud they called him and they sent him to the far regions of the world seeking information and allies. He found himself at an out post abandoned of law and order, a place of traveler's and renegades. It was here as he enjoyed an ale that a most unusual experience with a young eld lad would change the course of his path.
"He came crashing through the bar with a long sword which he dragged with both hands behind his back. I thought it not possible for such a young boy to beable to wield such a a sword, but remarkably he swung right around over his head and smashed it through a table seating many number a foul men. They disarmed the lad and tossed to a dark corner of the corner were I tried to enjoy my drink. He rised again and again they threw him about, laughing and encouraging him. It was then I learned the reason for the childs dispostion. One of them heckled his parents laughing at the elf lad for being raised by halfings, these men had killed this boy's guardians." (Fannen's journal entry 3)
It was then Fannen took to his feet and grabbed his sword then put it down. He approached the bandits and tried to reason with them.
Fannen:"Pay this boy all the money you have, then beg his forgiveness for the slaying of his parents." They laughed at him.
"Dont speak to me without showing face!!! Remove that hood before I remove your head!!!" The bandit insisted of Fannen.
He then removed his hood and they looked on in shock at the face of the elf.
"What's an elf doing in the lawless paths of the world?!"
Fannen:"doing nothing with you." he then grabbed the man whom had him by the collar, fannen through the vagrant crashing atop a table.
