The doors to the tavern creak open as a gnome charges through, breathing quickly. She peers around at the clientele, wondering if this crowd will react at all to what she has learned. But she must try, she tells herself... they must be warned.
In a surprisingly agile move, the gnome hops on top of a barstool. People start to turn towards her, perhaps hoping for a display of magic or some other tricks. She clears her throat and begins.
"Peoples of Tunaria!" she squeaks, trying hard to make her little voice carry. "I have traveled far across our lands this evening and have seen some frightful sights!"
She noticed a group of Tier Dal sitting in one booth nearby, snickering. She continued.
"My friend, the wise druid Hakiko, has seen them as well! I hope he will share his tales later. For now, please be aware that our food and drink supplies are beginning to run out!"
The barkeep stopped filling the glass of one of his patrons, then turned to frown at the gnome.
"As you journey outside, no doubt you will soon see these giant insects... these slith tar creatures... hovering around wells in many of our major towns and cities. Be sure to speak to the grocers -- they will tell tales of late or missing shipments of their wares.
Why, it has even reached my own city of Klick'Anon! I was able to quench my thirst, thankfully, but who knows how long that will last.
I'm not sure what these slith tar beasts will do, once the wells are dry and once the remaining water is poisoned. Be cautious, peoples of Tunaria! The famine we heard warnings of from Qeynos may be upon us!"
She hopped down from the stool, bolting out of the tavern as quickly as she had come... leaving an uneasy silence in her wake.
(OOC -- might be time to invest in that fishing rod!!)
