( This is continued from Fall into darkness)
I never thought that I would be able to use my birth name again, or that I would side with my father, the man that used me as a tool, a weapon.
::Just then four undead creatures rush up to darlena's side::
"Lady Naldany we are to accompany you to Freeport. You father left word that the ones you seek are taking refuse in one of the local Inns.''
Very well, you just do as I command. I don't see why I need you.
" Lord Xamont wants to ensure your safety my'lady."
:: The undead warrior then turned and reached into a large sack on one of the others back an pulled a jagged sword out, handing it to Darlena. ::
" My'lady he wishes you to use this sword of withering, the flesh will rot off your foe cuasing them great pain."
Excellent, I will slay that human priestest with this. We must hurry to that city before they depart.
:: After a few hours they arrive in Freeport, a guard motions for the group to stop.::
" you there your pets are not welcome past our cities gates, turn back or die."
:: As the guards reached out to touch Darlena the undead warriors leaped on them ripping them to pieces::
You dear fool they arent pets, they are my minions.
:: She kicks one of the guards as she stepped over ::
We will search each Inn and tavern one by one kill any that oppose you.
" Yes my'lady" :: As they go thru freeport entering taverns killing anyone that failed to give them the wereabouts of merrimekko or wilkens. Finally, they arrive at the Smiling serpent Inn.::
Ah barkeep perhaps you can be more useful than your fellow keeps was. I'm looking for a human priestess an a young female warrior. They are sisters mind you....go by the names Merrimekko and wilkens.
"I know them very well an I dunna believe I would tell a fiend such as you where they are."
Oh really?
::She grabs the barkeep by his neck lifting him into the air her right hand begins to form into a wolf's claw::
I really will enjoy tearing your body to small pieces.
" Wait ..... Wait... They were here a few hours ago, they said something about looking for something... They had a discussion an left.. please spare me."
Very well then I'm sure I will find them here. you four return to my father an tell him I will remain here to wait for their return.
" Yes my'lady" :: The four vanish into a cloud of smoke.::
Barkeep you will say nothing of this to them.
:: Darlena then puts on a cloak on and pulls the hood over her head. Moving over to the back of the tarvern she pulls up an ale and awaits for any further news of her prey.::

Lifting his chin to the warm dessert breeze, the general gazed out into the deep blue sky. A gentle smile rested on his face as he saw the familiar tall figure walk towards him.
“Ah, Laurence, how does your day fair? Did the fish leap into your nets today?”
“No, there is a eel among the trout.”
The general then turned into the hard faced man he addressed his men as. “Come into my office.”
The general stood behind the desk and waited for the man to speak.
“Sir, there is a Teir’dal causing havoc amongst the taverns. She is more than the normal guards could handle sir, she is strong.”
The general looked hard in the mans face, then turned looking towards the wall, yet not seeing it. “You are certain you know who it is?”
“Yes sir, I watched her. She did not notice me in my commoners attire.”
“ Very well. Laurence, what do you need?”
“Give me five good men, Sir. I will take care of it.”
“Five?”
“Forgive me, Sir. She has minions.”
The general turns back to him. “Laurence, you know better then to have to ask for forgiveness from me. For peets sake man, you are one of my best. I would trust you with my whole army.”
Laurence stood silent, his face unchanged by the remark.
“I will send them to you immediately. Destroy the minions, arrest the girl. Inform me when she is imprisoned.”
“Yes sir. May I go attend to my preparations?”
“Of course you can Laurence. Be careful out there.”
“Yes sir.”
The tall man inclined his head slightly, then left. The general sat as his desk and began to write, gathering his men to overcome this new threat.
( If you thought I was just gonna let you sit there, then you sat in the wrong place! hehehehe!)

:: Still sitting in the smiling serpant inn::
Hmmmpp these humans have no true loyalty to eachother one little threat an they would sell their own parents.
" My lady we did deliver the news to Lord Xamont as you ordered"
Funny I did not tell you to return.
"It is by his orders, he also said not to dwell here too long. He has a bigger tasking for you."
As if I am his puppet, I will leave when I am done.
:: No sooner than she finished her satement a invisible takes her by the throat::
" NO MY CHILD YOU WILL OBEY ME, AN WILL STAY FOR NO MORE THAN A FEW MORE HOURS."
:: The entity then releases her and dissapears.::
What have I done Slyfoot..... did I do the right thing?

The sky was just molding into an organish pink as the cool night air began to wash across the streets of Freeport. Five heavily armored men, eyes set strait ahead, marched to the tavern. A tall man, bearing only simple clothes walked nonchalantly to the tavern ahead of the men. He scratched his back as he entered into the stuffy alcohol tainted atmosphere.
“There’s the signal, men, we wait two minutes. Keep it quite.”
There she was, sitting at one of the far tables gazing at a bloody dagger. The man walked easily to the bar, sat down and ordered an ale. 4 minions, just like before. Now he just sat and waited. He watched the young drow over his shoulder, pretending to sip at the ale. He was intrigued by the look of sorrow and contemplation that played across the girl’s countenance.
“Odd,” He thought to himself, “There must be something I am missing… Most others would not grieve for blood on their dagger….hmmm.”
The 5 men burst into the tavern, and immediately spotted Darlena.
Darlena shot her gaze up at them, “Kill them.”
“Yes mi’lady!” The 4 undead gawked in unison as the drew their weapons. The tall man turned languidly in his bar stool, quietly watching the fight play out.
“Odd how she is just sitting there….either she is extremely lazy, or she doesn’t seek pleasure in blood…hmmm…interesting indeed.” The man sat back, placing his lips to the glace again.
Blood was flying everywhere, as the whole group fought in one massive mess of screeching metal and pulpy flesh. Then they broke off. Two of the men fallen, and the undead minions laying in pieces on the floor.
Darlena rolled her eyes over to look at the carnage.
“Well father, a lot of help they were.” She got up as she drew her blade, blowing her black hair out of her eyes.
The three men stepped in slow calculated movements around her…each of them bleeding from the previous battle, but none noticing as their eyes intensified on their target.
“ You should have known better.” Darlena sneered as she began to let the horrid beast form her palms into pinkish pads and her nails grow hard, thick, black.
“That’s is my daughter….that’s it…destroy them! You lust for their blood! You can feel it inching in your veins!”
Darlena raged at the words, her hot breath searing out her lungs. But then she really saw the blood; the red juice of life flowing from the three men’s bodies.
“Remember….” She thought, “I will fight them as myself….I will not lose control…”
Darlena’s eyes flashed, as she felt her rage build, but she kept the beast inside, controlled it’s power and flew towards the guards, felling the first as the other two moved in response to her attack.
“ Back away!”
The man stood, hand still on his ale glace as he gently put it down on the bar. The two guards backed away as Darlena turned to notice the man for the first time.
“ Oh, you want to die to? Come on! Join the party!” She howled as the beast broke through her flesh and her teeth turned to razors. Her sword threw flashes of light on the walls as it reflected the weak candle’s flames off her blade. She lunged at the man, but then felt herself thud to the floor.
“What?” She felt her sword arm pinched behind her back in his grip.
“Your coming with me.” The man said softly. Darlena felt his hands on the back of her neck. A strange pressure…..black out.

The tall mans soft steps puffed the dusted sand as he stepped across the worn wooden floor to the general’s office.
“General sir?”
The general’s eyes peered towards the man. “Good, come in Laurence. How goes the fishing?”
“Caught what I was after, sir.”
“Ah, how many?”
“One sir.”
“ A fair catch?”
“Perfect, sir. But some bait was lost.”
“How much?”
“Two, sir.” The tall man cast his gaze to the floor.
“…well, Laurence, sometimes you have to lose some in order to catch the prize.”
“…yes sir…”
The general’s eyes settled on the man as he admired the compassion in him, the humility.
“Well, are you sure she is the murder?”
“Yes sir.”
The general turned to blindly stare at his wall again. “ I see” he said, mindlessly rubbing his palms together. “Well, then you may fry your catch.”
“…sir?” The man asked cautiously.
“ Anything Laurence.” The general smiled at his friend.
The man allowed his lips to soften a bit, but continued, “Sir, allow me to keep the girl alive for a time.”
The general turned, a baffled look upon his face. “You know Laurence, if any other man asked me to do such, I would think he was mad.”
The tall man cast his gaze upon the floor again. “Yes sir, sorry sir.”
“Laurence, Laurence. Do as you see fit.” The general smiled back at him. “Report to me in three days on the matter.”
The tall man met the general’s eyes, “Yes sir.”
“Oh and Laurence”
“Yes sir?”
“Happy fishing.”
“Thank you, sir.”

Freeport outskirts late evening, the tall man enters a large house with several guards posted around it.
The man turns to one of the guards as he passes. " How is she, is she still sleeping?"
"Yes sir, her armor has also been removed an is in your quarters as you requested."
The man then nods his head in silent agreement and heads in.As he walks down the hallway he overhears two guards standing at door.
" I never really seen a teir' dal this close before let alone a female one."
"Aye, she is much prettier than I thought one would look, hehe ...... " What is it?" the first guard said puzzled.
"I wanna touch her..... what would be the harm ehh?"
"YOU WILL DO NOT SUCH THING!" The tall man shouted as he struck the guard.
"If you wish to remain in my company will will conduct yourself accordinly."
"Please forgive me sir I meant nothing of it sir, its just we haven't had much time off......" The guard said softly.
"Very well go into the city and enjoy yourself." The man said pointing to the door.
"As for you go bring some food for our guest."
The guard departed as order by the man. He then opened the door an piered inside. In the room lay Darlena still asleep, now wearing a red dress. The room is well decorated as if owned by a weathy person. He enters the room pulling up a chair.
"Will you sleep all night young miss?" The man said bringing his hand to his chin.
Darlena slowly awakes looking around the room then focusing on the man sitting arcoss from her, then at what she was wearing.
"I had you armor an weapons put away." The man said calmly.
"Who are you and where am I?"
"You are in my manor just outside of freeport, an you may call me Laurence."
"Well Laurence, I don't know what you did to me or why you brought me here but, I will not live to make that mistake again."
"You should know that this manor is surrounded by guards an you have but your lycan ability that will not get you much further should you fell me."
" Very well..... it would seem that I am at your mercy. But someone will come for me when I don't check in."
"Well it has been six hours since you have been here, when is this person going to look for you."
"My father... if i do not return to him he will send for me."
Laurence sat back in his chair taking in what she just said.
"Your father you said... well there has been no word of any teir'dal rampaging through freeport as you did. Are you sure he will come? What is his name."
"Xamont N'sier, he will make you suffer fo this outrage."
Laurence chuckles lightly, "Well I had several men stationed thruout the city to report any new Teir'dals that enter it. The only one to enter it in the last day other than yourself is another girl staying at one of the local inns. Maybe your not as important as you think to him."
Laurence pulls out a bloodstained dagger an shows it to Darlena.
"Tell me what is so special about this?"
"Give that back !" Reaching for the dagger Slyfoot gave her.
Jerking the dagger out of her reach. "Maybe if you tell me why is it so important to you."
"It was a gift given to me by the only one to ever call me friend, please give it to me."
Laurence slowly hands her the dagger thinking to himself that it odd to she a teir'dal so attached to something so small an meaningless.
"She was betrade by those she trusted an I was waiting for their return... to slay them, then you stopped me."
"You went thru my fair city killing those who had nothing to do with your friends betrayal an now I have three days to decide your fate."
Laurence get up an turns to the door with the guard standing there holding food.
"I take my leave of you, try to eat something please I will return later."

" N'sier that is a name that I have not herd of in years."
Laurence walks slowly down the hall to his chambers. As he enters his room he goes to his desk, cluddered with books an scrolls.
"Hmmmm, lets see hear...." Begins looking thru the cludder.
"Yes, hear we are.... the House of N'sier.....hmmmm." He turns to the corner where Darlena's armor was placed.
" Well old friend it seems I found your duaghter. I wonder where you have traveled to ......... Lady Nikkii. "
Just then there is a knock at his door.
"Sir Laurnce, we are having a problem."
"What is it speak quickly." Laurence ordered.
"Its the girl sir , she has dissapeared."
"Dissapeared let me see."
Laurence brushes pass the the guard as he storms out the room and heads to Darlena holding area. When he gets there he sees the baffeled guard standing in the room.
"Sir I can in to retreive the plate from her an I noticed she was not in here."
Luarence hears some slight footsteps exiting the room then a door close down the hall.
"You men search the area I will be in my chamber."
As he heads back to his chamber he can hear alot of russeling. One he gets to the door he can see the dress Darlena was wearing tossed on the floor, Darlena rushing to put her chest plate on.
"So I see you can make yourself invisable, a nice trick you N'sier can do, at least the ones that trained under your father."
" Its not a trick, you simple minded human." she snaps back at him while finishing her armor.
"One thing bothers me I thought Xamont died years ago shortly after the loss of his sons and his daughters' marriage into a noname house of Neriak."
" I too thought my father died, but that was a false rumor put out by someone."
"What of your mother......"
Darlena looks at him with a puzzled look on her face.
" My morther I dont remeber much of her she left us when I was but a small child an would rather not talk about her. "
"You know her? ...... how can that be she would never associate with a human."
" I'm not completely certain but in my travels I came arcoss a Teir'dal priestess that you resemble very closley. Althought she had lost her memory of her time in neriak."
Darlena gives him a dirty look. "Get to the point."
" My point is this .... She had a ring that bares the same crest you ring does."
Darlena looks at the ring in shock. " Then maybe you have seen her."
" I am in her debt..... an I always pay my debts. You are free to go, but please return to me should you find her...... I would love to thank her personally."
Darlena picks up her swords an heads out the door. Serveral guards rush into Laurnces chamber paniced.
"Sir are you ok? Shall we stop the girl?"
Laurnce waves his hand . " No. Let her go, return to your post...." Laurence picks up the dress and places it on his chair. " Well gereral I guess I will test you patience with my jugdement yet again."
Laurence then turns an opens his window and gazes out into the night.
"Well Lady Nikkii she does have promise if she chooses the right path, I hope anger does not consume her."
