Bornus: The Letter ( Page 2 - Addressed to all)

[Slyfoot M'Zors]

( Ok, this is the second page of the parchments Asthar gave to wilkens in "Bornus is found at last: death of Slyfoot (page 1)" That is where it picks up at. I tried to address everyone Slyfoot has had a reasonalbe bit of contact with.)

The Letter:


Wilkens - You have helped me more than any other. Know that someday that man will find you, and that your face shall be beautiful to him. It was beautiful to me. Never give up hope, and live on, seek a happy life. You shall find it. You are the strongest I have met. Please, as my final request, give each person addressed here their individual messages. Slyfoot.

Rene - I never had a mother that loved me, but you came closest to being that mother. I do not understand why you cared for me, but I appreciate what you did for me. Saving my life was very meaningful to me. I will never forget you, even in my eternal rest.

Jwiz - We had our hard times, but we pulled through. I am sorry for setting you up for that murder. It was all in game. Please take care of Tessa. And be careful of your bother. Do not let him be the end of you. And of those harsh words we exchanged, I ask that you think nothing of them, they are of the past. Live well.

Rhabuka - Please tell Argra that I will be unable to fulfill her requests. I regret that I could not do as she may have asked, but I am sure that you shall make her proud. Of all the Ogres I have encountered, save Argra herself, you are by far the most intelligent. You are unique. I do not know what that odd flare is in you, buy you have something special. May you grow stronger.

Zugarok - You are a strong warrior. I know that you will one day be a great bouncer. Drink an ale to me every now and then, for I drink to you. You are a strong one, for wat dun kill joo make joo strong.

Darlena - Keep my dagger. Keep it close, and always remember. You become very strong, but your power can still over come you. Keep your wits and know your limitations. Do not late your hate blind you.

Kalysta - I regret that our time together could not have been more plentiful. Remember what has passed between us. Do not let you hate for your father overcome your spirit. Remain strong and live fully.

Merrimekko - I regret that I could not have helped you further. I know that when you first get this message, you shall be joyful to hear of my death. But, I wish to tell you that Feadin lives, and he searches for you. I pray that once you find him, happiness shall return to your life. Then you shall look on this letter again, and instead of joy you shall feel sorrow. I hope that day comes soon.

Bubbeltroubl - I guess I won’t be able to share some frog leg soup with you. Make sure your hair remains it lovely purple color, or else I may have to come back and haunt you.

Cephius - Keep your wife safe. I wish you strength in your magics. May you grow strong.

Hakiko - May your wise words continue to flow.

Aquella - Follow your deepest thoughts. You harbor great power, but do not succumb to insanity. May the taunts and mockeries only cause your power to grow, but let not the rage blind you to a clear mind. Keep your wits about you, and guard your every action. Though we have not met, remember the red eyes.

Greco - Though we never met, you know who I am. Your darkness intrigued me. I wish I could have observed you more.

Konku - Watch your back, and be ware of your tongue. Arrogance is the game of fools.

Galdon - Your dark thoughts may lead you astray, or to power. It is for you to decide your destiny.

Shaynee - Again, your arrogance was apparent. You have great dreams and goals. Be weary though, for even a troubled past is not always enough to fuel one to carry out their wishes.

Kyrinn - I will never forget when you mocked me. May your heart fill with happiness, and may your sword go soft in your palm.

Please feel free to read all of whom I address, but for role playing sake, keep in mind that your character only recieves the small portion addressed to them, and has no idea about the rest of the letter. [Rhabuka]

The big bear loped along the mountain's edge and paused, looking up at the darkening sky. Something had changed... she did not know what it was. All she knew was the commotion she sensed in the spirit world.

She changed direction and headed for the old tavern, hoping to find some clue as to the events that had transpired.

In truth, she hoped to find the human Merrimekko there. A dangerous individual, but well versed in the realms of death.

[Greco]

:: greco sat in a withered oak chair, absorbing the bit of information he had been blessed with. he now spoke aloud to a world not his own, fluently with a tongue that was not his, either ::

" Intrigued by a dark aura, eh? Perhaps there could have been an equal in this womans soul? A common bond in shadow, or the like? Or perhaps not . . . Only more study will tell . . ."

[MerriMekko]

:: Merrimekko walks into the tavern looking travelworn. she looks around and sees the parchment stuck to the wall with a wanderer's sai that looks very familiar. she walks up to it and reads the parchment. ::

hmmm, i have no clue who this hunnybun is. i wonder what she means to my dear sister. why would she post such a thing. ah its of no concern to me. i know now she was here thats all that matters.

:: merri turns away from the parchment and almost runs down another person who was standing right behind her::

" dam you, how dare you get in my way"

" well if it isnt my dearest sister"

" where have you been you spoiled brat. we need to talk"

" i have no time for talk now. i have a message for you from slyfoot. i dont know if i really should give it to you but it was something she had requested. "

" Bah, what does she want. I will get to her in due time. its you that i want to deal with first"

" i would read this message first, then you can deal with me. i dont want to deny my friend her request"

:: wilkens hands merrimekko the message and then sits down at the closest table::

:: merri's face starts to go pale as she quickly finishes the message and looks at her sister::

" is what she says true, is he really alive?"

" yes, i saw him with my own eyes"

" i need to sit, i need some ale"

:: wilkens gets up and goes for some ale and comes back and sits back down at the table. she hands her sister a mug::

:: merri sits down and reads the message again::

" so is sly really dead? or is it some sort of trick?"

" i would have to believe what is said. i received my own letter from her. and it was from a trustworthy source"

" has her body been taken to mother yet?"

" no, i dont know where her body is. but i wouldnt worry bout that if i were you. just drink your ale. we have lots to talk about when you get over your shock"

" i cant believe it. hes alive. after all this time hes alive. "

:: wilkens gets up and goes to the bartender, drops a bag of tunars on the bar and tells him to keep sending ale to her table. she walks back and sits down across from her sister and continues to drink ::

( this is where i leave it. anyone who comes into the tavern will see wilkens and merrimekko sitting at a table drinking. )

[aquella]

Leaning over her latest lessons, Aquella suddenly feels a cold breeze flow through the room. Unsure of its source, she stands to check the door. Two steps from the desk, a searing pain rips through her chest, grabbing her heart as if in a vice.

"Sly is gone..." she whispers to herself.

Breaking into a torrent of sobs and shaking she collapses to the floor, kneeling she whispers a Teir Dal prayer she picked up somewhere, and glances - eyes still glistening- to the moon rising in the frame of the window.

"Fare thee well, my friend"

[Rhabuka]

Merri and Wilkens turned their heads in unison, watching a large brown bear approaching their table. The animal stopped at Wilkens’ side and snuffled. Then a bright flash filled the room, momentarily drawing attention away from the dark cloaked figure and his story of a plague of some kind. An equally massive ogre replaced the form of the bear. Her red eyes regarded each human in turn.

Merri, meanwhile, did nothing to hide the disgust on her face at this blatant display of primitive beast magic.

“Me hopes to find joo here, human Merri.” The ogre began in her rough voice. “Dere be sometin happen and me not know what. Da spirits be goin in circles, dey seem angree.”<br>
Wilkens held out the note for the ogre to see. “Here Rhabuka, this is from Slyfoot.”<br>
Rhabuka looked down upon the younger human, brows raised. “Me no can reed dat stuff. Wut it say?”<br>
Wilkens obliging read the contents of the letter, while Rhabuka waited silently, showing remarkable patience for her kind.

“We needs to find da Slyfoot. Dat must be why da spirits go so wacky up dere. Come humans, me get da quik feets and we go.”<br>
Merri huffed, “Why should I help find her? After what she did to me… I ought to just let her rot where she lies.”<br>
“Joo bedder wit da dead den me, joo can get da Slyfoot and brings her bak.”<br>
“Besides,” added Wilkens. “Perhaps Sly can tell you more about the whereabouts of Feadin.”<br>
Merri wheeled on her sister, furious that she would try to blackmail her in this way.

“Enuff of dis talk!” The ogre roared. “No wonder da human be so week, joo never go out do stuff when need to. Come, methinks me know where da Slyfoot be. Me get strong pull to go to dead house. Joo follow me or no?”<br>
(Bah, must get back to work! Please continue… )

[MerriMekko]

( with pleasure rhab, and thank you for your part in the story)

::with much reluctance from Merri the three of start for the door of the tavern when Merri stops dead still::

" what the hell is wrong with me, i can barely feel my legs?"

:: wilkens turns and faces her sister and smiles at her::

" you cant walk you say? hmmm, i wonder why?"

" WILKENS what have you done to me"

" oh nothing much my dearest sister. you see, i dont think you fully understand the complete pain and suffering you have cause the family and others with your actions. so, i have done something to make you pay. with the help of another"

:: Merri looks past rhabuka and wilkens to the door of the tavern. her face goes so very white::

" Feadin? is that really you? please help me, i cant move very well and its all Wilkens fault"

" Why should I help you. Especially if half of what I have heard is true. You are not the girl I fell in love with all those years ago. You permantly disfigured your only sibling. You killed a young monk with no regard to the monks family. No, I wont be helping you. Unless you want some help to die quicker. Then that is something I can do. "

:: Feadins hands start to glow and out comes swarming red death::

" So my former love, what will it be. An easy death ,a death without honor or shall you suffer for everything you have done?"

" But Feadin, my love, dont be angry at me. i did those things out of love for you. i thought you were dead. i was trying to find a way to bring you back. please dont be angry at me. i love you, please say you love me. i didnt do anything that anyone else wouldnt do"

" Hmmm, I think I know what type of death you shall receive. "

" please feadin dont talk like that. i love you, you wouldnt hurt me. i know you wouldnt. "

" Your right on that count Merri, I couldnt hurt you. But I know someone who can and will. "

:: Feadin turns to wilkens and stares at her for a minute ::

" Wilkens, are you sure you want to do this. You realize you will have to live with her death on your soul for the rest of your life. "

" she doesnt deserve to live after all she has done. is it all arranged?"

" Yes, its all arranged. My friend will be here momentarily."

:: wilkens turns to rhabuka with a look of hardness on her scarred face::

" rhab, i will be back shortly, feadin will take me to the place we were going. we have to get my mother first. but before we do that i have unfinished business to take care of. take zug and the others there. i will meet you there"

:: a wolf almost as big as rhab in her bear form comes running into the tavern up to Feadin::

" Everything is all set my friend. We are set to go. "

:: POOF Merri, Wilkens, Feadin and the wolf stranger dissapear ::

[Darlena O'seth]

::walking through the neraik forest a sudden feeling of loss comes to her::

''Something is not right.''

::takes out the dagger given to her from Slyfoot::

''Has something happened to you? What have you gotten yourself into this time?"

[Jwiz]

::: Ummm sly? can you here me? hmm i wonder if im doing this right?:::

"Are you sure that you have the power to do this old man?" jwiz says angrily

" Yes yes i can but i cannot connect with this one. something is wrong with here unconcious,dead something."

:: Jwiz looks at the old man in fear and anger. Jwiz thinks to himself... i must find her ifear something may be terribly wrong::

[Kyrinn the Black]

The journey to Oggok took the messenger several days even on horseback. He had delivered messages to every corner of the continent and Oggok was definitely the last place in Tunaria he wanted to go. There were plenty of places that he was unwelcome but in Oggok he could end up as some Ogres dinner, and it seemed a shame to come so far to have it all end in that manner. Upon arrival at the stables he handed the reigns of his horse to the coachwoman, then, as an afterthought added, "Um miss, that horse isn't for eating". He then turned and started his walk down into the bowels of the ruined Ogre city. He was supposed to find a Teir’Dal blacksmith who was staying here. Apparently Dertreg, the lead Blacksmith in Oggok, had taken him in and was allowing him to stay there with the Ogres. Why anyone would actually stay there of his own free will was still a mystery of course.

The messenger stepped carefully by the Ogre guards that eyed him on his journey down. It was obvious that this was once a grand stonework city but it had almost completely fallen into ruin. Most of the buildings and corridors were collapsing and he doubted the Ogres had the ability to make repairs. He wondered if the Ogres had found the ruin and chosen to inhabit it, or if they had simply seized the city from its creators. He ceased his pondering as the sign for Dertreg's smithy came into view. As he passed through the crumbling entryway he immediately spotted the Dark Elf heating a pike head at the forge. It had to be him, how many Dark Elf smiths could there really be in Oggok?

"Ah excuse me sir; but would your name be Kyrinn L'Celare?"

The Teir'Dal at the forge raised his head ever so slightly. Just enough to peer at the messenger from the tops of his eyelids.

"I have not used that name in several years. I go only by Kyrinn now."

"Erm...of course sir. I bring a message from a lady Slyfoot M'Zors. She says: I will never forget when you mocked me. May your heart fill with happiness, and may your sword go soft in your palm."

"Is that all?"

"Yes sir, nothing more"

"Then if you're done wasting my time I would suggest taking your leave now."

Kyrinn continued to watch as the messenger bowed his farewell, turned, then hurried from the Smithy. He doubted that messenger had actually known Slyfoot. It was more likely the message had been passed by some 3rd party that was currently unknown to him. It was a curious situation indeed. Kyrinn had not spoken with Slyfoot in well over a year, and then when he did he remembered being on good terms with her. He had even shown her an unusual act of kindness and given her a staff he had won from an expedition into the depths of Castle Felstar. Very strange that she would choose to seek him out in this manner after all this time, and then just to curse him. For a simple two-sentence message it seemed to bring up many questions. Why did Slyfoot think he was mocking her? Why did the messenger name him L'Celare when she knew the house no longer existed? Why even seek him out at all?

Kyrinn went back to work on his pike head. Taking the glowing piece from forge to anvil. He was soon lost again in the hammers song of ringing steel on steel. Things were going to get interesting again.
