(Picking up from “Wizard, stone, and blood." )
Death, she had come back. I did not seem like she had truly perished, but life was in her body again. She walked back into the cave, the warm embers of the fire still glowing in a last attempt to defeat the cool air.
“Slyfoot? What are you doing up?”
“Nothing, just having some time to myself, that’s all.” She said, packing up her things.
“Ok,” said Wilkens.
The two proceeded to discuss the recent matters at hand, their voices hushed as their souls became closer with every word. The body of Wilken’s sister lay lifeless upon the solid ground.
“We will need to cover her with snow, to preserve her body.”
“Well, we could just close up the cave, like the way she did when she attacked you.”
Slyfoot glanced at Wilken’s and then headed for the cave entrance.
Wilken’s shrugged. “There is no way around the snow part is there.”
“ No. If it bothers you, I will do it.” Slyfoot said, as she walked back, arms full of snow.
Wilkens staired at the little delf for a moment, and then rushed to the edge of the cave to bring more snow. “You can’t do it all yourself.” The two continued bringing more and more snow until Merri’s body was sufficiently covered.
“Alright now stand back,” said Slyfoot as she waved her arms in loops. Her hands glew as she threw a ball of ice on to Merri’s body, sealing her from all the elements. “Now that is done. Lets go.” Chatter Slyfoot, soaked from the snow. Wilkens tossed her a warmer cloak, “ok.”
Wilkens woke her mother and kal. Once they had packed everything, the four headed off to Freeport to Wilkens humble house hold. When they arrived, Renee set off right away to fix some stew as Kal went off to bed. Wilkens took Slyfoot for a tour of the house, and showed her where she would be staying. She also showed her Renee‘s, Merri’s and her own room.
“Come and get it!” Shouted Renee. The two rushed down the stairs and sat at the table.
“Ok, eat it while it is hot. Here you are Slyfoot.” Renee placed a hot bowl of stew down in front of Slyfoot. She had not eaten in four days, and was doing everything she could not to drool.
“Oh! I’ll be right back!” Wilkens shouted as she rushed out the door. After a few minutes had past, Wilkens burst back in the door again caring two small packages. She handed one to Slyfoot and opened the other, showing a nice fresh loaf of bread.
“There, Slyfoot, that one is especially for you.” Wilkens smiled.
Slyfoot looked curious. She opened the bad, revealing a nice sized bottle of ale. She smiled. “That will help.” She popped open the bottle and began to chug.
“Young lady!” scolded Wilkens’ mother, “We have glaces in this house, so use them.”
Slyfoot stopped and poured her ale in a glace Wilken’s had retrieved for her, and chugged it down, refiled it and chugged it down again.
“My goodness child, you eat so fast! It is like you have not eaten in a week!” Renee said as she picked up Slyfoot’s empty bowl.
“Well…” Slyfoot muttered under her breath. The three continued to eat, discussing simple things, and how the food tasted, and Slyfoot chugging away at the ale.
Suddenly a large crash was heard.
“Run..I can’t control it….”
It was Jwiz, mad with blood lust, his cursed eyes glowing crimson red. He was casting spells left and right, destroying everything they touched.
“Get your mother in the back!” Slyfoot jumped up swirling her staff as she spoke. “Hurry! I can’t control him for long!” Jwiz fell under Slyfoot’s mind spell and ceased his rampaging. Slyfoot gritted her teeth with consternation, trying to hold the powerful wizard under control. She ran out the door, casting a invisibility spell on Jwiz as she dashed for the desert as Jwiz mindlessly followed and Wilkens trailed close behind. The three ran into the desert. “Get back! I can’t hold him!” Slyfoot gasped as Jwiz broke loose from her spell. Wilkens ducked as a firy ball of flame flew past her head. Jwiz cast in every direction, trying to destroy everything that lived. Slyfoot edged closer, and closer, until she straitened right in front of Jwiz. Their eyes locked, Jwiz’s hand dropped to his side as the two stood entrance, their red eyes glowing into each other.
::: Ok, now sneek up behind him and knock him as hard as you can.:: Slyfoot used her gift to speek to wilkens in her mind. “With pleasure,” muttered wilkens, approaching Jwiz. THWACK! Jwiz fell to the ground from Wilkens hit with the hilt of her sword.
The two stood over the fallen elf.
“Now what?”
“Common, pick him up, we are going to the Church of Marr.” Said Syfoot.
Wilkens struggled to pick the wizard up. “What if I drop him?” she smirked.
“Just carry him, at least until we find an orc.”
“An orc?”
