“A dark day to you citizens.”
“I was once known as Kyrinn D’Deleth of house D’Deleth. A rather minor house of Neriak’s court. Later I would become Kyrinn L’Celare of house L’Celare, Imperial Shadow Knight of the Twilight Empire. I was well on my way to leading a glorious career in the service of Princess Krystis Thex, then calling herself the Empress of the Twilight Empire. That all changed when she disappeared and did not return. Without her leadership the Empire crumbled. Without the Empire’s backing, the members of house L’Celare were labeled as traitors. My comrades and I were sentenced to death. Fortunately for me I was away with the Gnome Magician Cephius when the sentence was carried out. In my absence house L’Celare was slaughtered and on my return I found the manor in ruin. I knew that I would share their fate if I was discovered, and so I left without looking back.”
“Pity me not, for I felt no true sense of loyalty to either organization. I was merely using them to obtain my own freedom. It was my wish to escape the petty scheming and backstabbing of Neriak’s noble houses. I am free now, but I can never return to Neriak for house D’Deleth will surely seek my head if I do. Now I wander the lands lending my blade wherever I so choose. I server no Master but myself.”
“I am now known simply as Kyrinn the Black…”

"Though house D'Deleth is but a minor house, they are still very well established and compared to house L'Celare, they are very large. When Lanchar formed house L'Celare ad invited me it was an opportunity to break my ties to house D'Deleth without the threat of retribution. Lanchar after all was a loyalist to Krystis Thex, and none of the other house would dare appose house Thex."
"L'Celare was a creation of several minor nobles in Neriak's court, and the other houses were unwilling to recognise them as anything other than an outright rebellion. It was only Krystis's backing that allowed them to exist. Such an unstable foundation was much easier for me to walk away from than a long standing organization like House D'Deleth. It wasn't something that could be done immediately though, as I could not easily walk away from Krystis and the Twilight Empire, nor Lanchar and house L'Celare. Of course both being fledgling organizations it was not beyong my abilities to grow strong enough to challenge both with my own power. Being a part of house L'Celare and of the Twilight Empire severed my ties to house D'Deleth and gave me the opportunity to observe their inner workings before making my move against them."
"As you know, Krystis Thex dissapeared. Without her, the Twilight Empire and house L'Celare crumbled. House L'Celare was slaughtered almost to the man while I was hunting orcs with the Magician Cephius so I was not involved in the defense of the manor. In the end, all of my plotting was completely unnecessery, and it worked out to my benefit anyways. House D'Deleth was of course furious that I was not killed with the rest of the L'Celare defenders, but they are a minor house and their reach does not extend beyond Neriak. I can travel as close as Ft. Seriak without fear of retribution."
