Magicians within EverQuest represent the pinnacle of detachment from the mundane world. Capable of summoning virtually any item of use--including weapons, food and otherworldly creatures--the Magician is an invaluable asset to both himself and his party. Mysterious in nature, these spellcasters are an imposing force, particularly at higher levels.
The ability to call upon supernatural forces for these exquisite spells of summoning makes the Magician truly unique. Whether it be a weapon to fend off monsters, or food to sustain himself the Magician always has a trick up his sleeve. If you are with a Magician in a party you need not worry about going back to town for sustenance or buying all of that unneeded equipment.
In EverQuest, many say that a Magician really shines through while fighting within a group. This is very, very true, though they can manage well on their own if they play their cards right. While it is true that the Magician is a fairly poor warrior, if you have an Elemental you're in an excellent position to fight alongside that Warrior that you just formed a group with; just sit back and cast spells while the Elemental and Warrior absorb all of the damage.
