(From Kyrinn's website, helpful to frame the period we're in.)
It is in this age where we find ourselves. There are many inconsistencies in different versions of the lore. The time in EQOA suggests that Antonius Bayle has yet to impose his name upon the continent of Tunaria. The Erudites have already organized for the migration close at hand. Edril has not yet passed away. The barbarian races have set aside their feuding and war-like ways and have joined as one society in the city of Halas. And we yet see the elder races of Tunaria scattered in small villages and tribes all over the continent. More importantly, we are told that the Age of Adventure is indeed the same period as The Age of Enlightenment. They are the same age. "It was discussed during beta testing that the Elves we know in EQOA are not all of the elves. Another group of Elves went off exploring and found Faydwer. In our timeline they are there right now building Kelethin and Felwithe. Preparations for traveling to Odus are also occuring or will occur shortly." This could explain why the timeline suggests high and wood elves should exist, though we do not see them on our continent.
After centuries of solitude, the ogres of Oggok have finally opened their gates to the outside world. The long lost Mountains of Rathe, the volcanic Lavastorm Mountains and Veeshan's realm, The Plane of Sky, are now open to all explorers and adventurers.
To the West, the Erudites have begun their massive exodus to the unknown islands of the Western Sea to escape the hypocrisy and corruption of their human neighbors. A true frontier, Odus will prove more than just a challenge to the Erudites, for their very existence is at stake.
Adventure into Veeshan's home, the altered Plane of Sky. Find your way through massive hanging islands among the clouds. Untold treasures and power await any adventurer daring enough to tackle this perilous landscape.
The gnomes of Klick`Anon have finally broken through the northeastern mountains and stumbled upon the tumultuous lands of Lavastorm. Reputed to be ruled by a mysterious tyrant of flame and lava, it's up to Norrath's adventurers to discover the new frontiers.
