Gaien, do you know what antipasta is? Antipasta - Italian for "before meal" usually a selection of various cold vegetable, meat. fish or cheese. Answering the question the way I did was the only way to get this thread rolling again, not ignorance on my part ;D

All right Gaien, I've enjoyed this thread and am glad you dug it up. Here are a few more: (1) How can you balance the commercial use of the Web with the rights of the Internet community as a whole? Is there such a thing as too much freedom of information? (2) How do we know that the universe is infinite? Or at some point would we hit a big wall -- and what is on the other side of that wall? Hmmmmm? ?

(2) How do we know that the universe is infinite? Or at some point would we hit a big wall -- and what is on the other side of that wall? Hmmmmm? ? I know am not Gaien, thank god just kidding, but this is one I can field in a way. the answer to your first part is the universe is not infinite it is finite. It can only exist as far as the space-time field has expanded, so in short it has a definite size. as for the rest you will have to ask Gaien on the philisophical side of things.

All right Gaien, I've enjoyed this thread and am glad you dug it up. Here are a few more: (1) How can you balance the commercial use of the Web with the rights of the Internet community as a whole? Is there such a thing as too much freedom of information? (1)This is a controversial issue, Rhab, and more a matter of personal opinion and morality (see Morality, page 1 for questions on that subject) than a question of philosophy, however, I will offer my personal opinion on the matter. I do believe that there is such a thing as too much freedom of information. People are entitled to their privacy! The power of the Internet can easily be abused. While I think it is great to be able to look up an old friend or acquaintance using the Internet, what if they didn’t want to be found. There information is still available to anyone who wants it unless they fill forms and request otherwise. Even then government agencies can look them up ‘in the name of national security’ anytime they want. Another easy way to abuse the power of the Internet is the proliferation of unsolicited commercial e-mail, ergo, SPAM! Not just that annoying level 6 asking to be ‘twinked’, spam is used to send mass emails to thousands and hundreds of thousands of people, even if they don’t want it. Usually ‘Get Rich Quick’ or ‘Get Out Of Debt’ are the most common types of spam. Managing the delicate balance between commerce and the rights of the Internet community as a whole is an ongoing challenge facing the digital enterprise. The rapid growth and predominance of commerce on the Internet makes it easy to overlook its many other facets - educational, social, creative, and artistic, to name a few. The Internet also makes it easier to communicate with people, in certain aspects. Long distance calls can be expensive, but emails (generally) are not. The Internet can be put to great use this way with thousands of people all sharing ideas. Our boards are a great example of the Internets ability to facilitate the ease of communication between individuals. A friend of mine once stated something along the lines of ‘What if we could get all the major scientists of the world in one place at one time and have them all sit down a figure out a way to better humanity. The Internet offers this ability, but it is individuals that need to take advantage of it. I’ll leave this little tangent with a quote from the Internet Advisory Board. ‘The health and well being of the Internet is the responsibility of its users who must, uniformly, guard against abuses which disrupt the system and threaten its long-term viability.’ - 1989 As for your second question, ol' Phel did a good job of answering that one unless you were asking in a philosophical sense, at which point I'll have to ask you to rephrase the question ;D

Can you answer a question in few enough words that I don't lose interest and stop caring about the answer? Most of my posts are intended to give the reader as much information as possible. If ever you wish for a shorter answer to a question that has been posted, PM me and I'll sumerize for you ;D

;D 1. How many players play a Jedi in the mmorpg Star Wars Galaxies? 2. Will having too many players playing a Jedi destroy the balance of SWG? 3. How do most players feel about seeing lots of Jedi players everywhere? 1) No accurate census has been placed to determine this. 2 & 3) See links below Ok, not quite the types of questions I was looking for, but here are a few links for you that might help answer your questions. www.swgalaxies.net/guides/jedi/www.swgalaxies.net/articles/article.php3?article_id=12
