okie, i have been watching movies again. and here is the question that i have had for awhile but i keep forgettin bout it.
in the movie XXX vin diesel has his uber car with all the cool gadgets. my question is, what is the paint job that is on that car, its the only car i have seen ever to change colours during the movie.

I think it's a chameleon paint job, but not sure. Costs like $1,000 a gallon or something ridiculous like that...

its not Chamelon paint and fyi it isnt' $1000 a gallon, it is just a bunch of pearl colors layered in coats lol . The base color is probably some color of blue with a pearl red color layed over it, so at certain angles it is red and others it blends with the blue and sometimes it is just blue. hope that helps.

Ok, if you have car questions, defer them to master mechanic Phelan So, Mr. Mechanic, if the Chameleon paint doesn't cost $1k a gallon, how much does it cost and how many gallons would it take to cover a Mustang? Same question as before, but for the different pearl coats?

well now that all depends.... What year Mustang, and what brand of paint? How much of the car? just the outsides or under the hood and inside as well? all of those things makes a difference and in my opinion it is much better to go with a base coat regular color and do one pearl coat over it and it will change between the two, such as the car in XXX.

umm first off I would love for you to tell me where you have a 55 mustang, cause that is news to me. The first mustangs that I know where built in 64 or 65. second paint is only a fraction of the cost involve, are you having a body shop do the painting?

well you can expect about 90-100 dollars an hour for labour involved. now do you want your car straight and perfect or just painted?
