January Meeting

I was talking with Rhabuka about several things recently and we both thought that with the recent addition of new members...and what not that a meeting might be in order...for the ingame folks of course. Please post here any issues you would like discussed and I am thinking of the 15th or 22nd of January...if there is any preference I'd appreciate input...as usual it will be held at BSI at 12midnite Eastern Time.

One issue I would like to see addressed is how to handle new 'recruits'. I have found that new names pop up on the guild list but they don't always introduce themselves on the boards. I'd like to devise a way to welcome new folks aboard -- maybe even something as simple as a welcome in-game mail, which in turn directs them to the boards (it's in the charter but it doesn't hurt to spell it out directly).

Personally, I feel I get just as much out of the boards as I do playing the game. We're developing our own guild lore in a way, and RPA members who don't check out the boards miss out on a lot because of that.

I only have two things to say, first Rhab totally agree with you and sounds like a good idea. Second where is BSI? lol sorry, I am not good with the alphabet soup. well ok maybe three things, third I prolly won't be able to attend, unless it is on a sun, otherwise I am at work at that time of night.

BSI = Black Swan Inn, which is the little inn near the Darvar Manor coach. I don't pay much attention to the direction, but I'm thinking it's south of Darvar.

I'm glad Phel asked what BSI is because I thought it was some sort of time zone lol. I do have a question though. When guild meetings are held, are they done in or out of character? I want to make sure of these things before I go jumping to conclusions and I'm sorry I ask so many questions. I will try to be there, but if not could someone send me a short version of what happened over a PM or something so that I'm not fully left out?

The meetings have been held out of character. This makes it easier to discuss important issues. We can always go to IC after the administrative stuff is taken care of.

I will post what was discussed at some point after the meeting for all who can't attend.

Also, please remember Hakiko is planning his murder mystery for this weekend (Sunday at 1pm EST I think).

Well both actually....people tend to fade in and out of character as the meetings progress....I don't think that this one will be a long meeting but it has been awhile and I'm sure some people have some ideas that they would like to express...sometimes the meetings are impromptu such as the trial...

well...i have a suggestion..try making a charactor description thread i think that would atleast help with the new members joining the RPA site, also i would like to know if there is an RPA on CLW if not i really think there should be i have all my alts on CLW and until i have a way to transfer them to other servers im basicly stuck there..yeah i know most people on CLW are very rude but im not like most people on CLW even though i was born and raised on CLW server, any if at all possible it would be nice to have an RPA on CLW would certainly help once i buy my gamecard and am able to play again, though till i get my game card im stuck on PC and im really missing EQ badly

The Census Office is the best place to introduce characters. People can talk a bit about themselves in as much or as little detail as they like.

It's funny you mention CLW -- A LOT of the RPA membership moved from Marr's Fist to Ferran's Hope at the suggestion of the original leadership, who are no longer with us LOL!!!

In some cases folks left 60 MC characters behind, gem mules, rares mules, etc. Zug and I have a full slate of characters on MF so we feel your pain.

As to starting an RPA on CLW, by all means give it a try. Just know that unfortunately there are not a lot of roleplayers out there. It has taken us a long time to attain the membership we have, and much of that is based on people moving from different servers and starting over.

I feel alot of pain too, when I make characters on other servers!

I am also from CLW and I too had the same thought about making a RPA on CLW. CLW isn't that bad, there are many nice and friendly people there.

Maybe you and Acheron should consider trying to start one there -- of course you can join us for any level 1 events on Ferran's.

Start posting on the CLW message boards on the EQOA website, invite friends who you think might be interested in roleplaying -- it is a slow process but it can be done. We started the RPA on Ferran's in June or July last year, I think.

Back to the original topic -- perhaps we should make it a February meeting. I'd really like for Kyrinn to be able to attend. I know he's been incredibly busy.

okay i have already informed rhab about this but i think it best i inform everyone else as well, i would personlly be honoredto help in the making of an RPA on CLW but sadly i no longer have an active account on EQ my problems being my credit card i was using is dead i cant find a game card and even if i could im kinda broke for atleast 2 months seeing as im saveing up for a trip to georgia to visit a my gf who happens to be in the RPA but for future reference these are the charactors i can usually be found on

yeah i know...the names suck but i have a hard time comin up with names for EQ for some reason but if any one would be willing to help me aquire a game card i would be extremely grateful
