I expect Kyrinn to post here quite a bit and of course, Canadians invented the rant so. But I will take a minute to start out <<cracks his knuckles>> Now that my wife/healer has such limited time and I have started my third bard so I can actually level a character all I can find is power levelling groups. Even when I politefully say, "I don't give power levels nor take them" people then get mad at me for leaving their group. So after dropping out of three or four groups, last night I found group #5, where I ask before accepting whether it is a powerlevel group or not. I am told no even though the first words I hear in group speak is the cleric (who was not group leader) say "let's find a PL." The leader however asks that they normal xp since I made it clear I would leave otherwise (don't ask me why they cared) and then they led me on a twenty minute journey to the undead that are normally about 3 minutes down/on the coast. We fight, I pull aggro and wonder why my groupmates aren't A) taunting B) healing (group make up was warrior SK and Cleric). luckily a bard is an elf of all trades so I manage to survive several of these incidents. However I find it alarming that level 20 toons do not do things that should be akin to breathing, heartbeating...luckily for me they started to LD fairly quickly...I suppose the bright side is that it shows that all of the naysayers on the main EQOA boards are wrong and that their are new players aplenty. Anyway for now that is my rant, not being born Canadian, I know that it isn't a very professional job, but perhaps I will be able to finetune things as I get more practice Please add in! I welcome the company of other's misery!

I'm sick of "the sky is falling" posts on the main EQOA boards. I find very little useful information there anymore. I used to go there for helpful advice but now it's 90% whining and complaining and people leaving to play game X. Honestly, I should probably stop frequenting those boards... the only good thing lately has been Zug (aka Pnut's) write-ups for episodes of "Lost". It's amazing how many requests there are for PLs. A few days ago when I was online, I saw a level 27 toon asking for a PL for his group. LEVEL 27!!! The PL groups are much worse than afk xp. OK, that's all the ranting I have for now!!

hmmm ranting, im in heaven now. :-)
ok, let me just make a quick comment regarding the plvling. you guys remember merri, shes lvl 36, and the last time i was grpd with her the group got a plvl. i left the group then got razzed for it.
high lvl chars coming in and taking over group without asking the group if they need help. or just start plvling group.
low lvls who demand plvls, cause they got high lvls chars so they think that others should plvl them.
ploobs, i hate ploobs. if i could i would take them all and put them into a room and shut the door on them, dont have to lock it, they wont have a high lvl to open it for them.
broken quests, they really should fix the quests that they put in. instead of giving more stuff for high lvls, dont get me wrong i think that the high lvls need things to do too. but they bring in stuff and dont fix what is known to be broken.
ummm i think i will stop for now, i prolly got more to rant about.
:-)

Another funny thing I saw recently -- a level 30-something toon powerleveling a single level 5 toon at the nasehir village. I felt like asking the higher level character how long it was taking the level 5 guy to kill stuff... but then I figured ah well, he got himself into it.
Yes, getting razzed for not wanting to be in a PL group is very annoying. Let me help you set up that ploob room, Wilkens! You're right, we wouldn't even need to lock it.

Could be worse...could be raining...<<<< quote from Young Frankenstein. Love that movie. All time classic to anti-ranting, until it starts raining. So yes, I guess that if it was raining at that time, the ranting would be appropirate. Then again, if your like me, you like rain, so there isn't anything to complain about, in which this quote does not make any sense at all be cause it does not apply to me. Then again I can see how big fat loud mouthed ogres could get in trouble with the rain. They look up at the sky like turkeys and drown when they can't figure out how the clouds are pouring all the water out when they are not connected to a river. Then again, that is after they get stuck in the mud after eating to much. What a mess. But back to my quote, which would apply to the case of an ogre who eats to much, gets stuck in the mud and dies from rain-drowndification.
Oh btw Zug, you up for some Deuling? Or maybe some Dualing?

And now I will have to rant, about people who put one sentence answers in a rant thread. I can't believe that you Rhabuka, and especially you Slyfoot (of the million posts) would defile the flaming behemoth that this rant thread is sure to become. On top of that I can't believe that some people don't like peanut butter, I mean if you are alergic to peanuts...I guess I could see you not eating any...but even then it should be not that you don't like it...coz you probably do, you just don't like the near death experience that comes with eating it...which leads me to another subject ....
(tongue in cheek, ranting is fun, yet another Canadian past time along with curling I hope t o do more of one day)

Besides, it seems Sly actually had 3 sentences. Incomplete, mind you, but definitely more than one.
OK -- back to your regularly scheduled ranting...

Don't you just hate it when Ogres who are site administrators derail their own thread. See it says right up there in bright orange colors EQOA Out of Character. So why is that dum Ogre going on about peanut butter and the way some people have written one line posts in this colossal rant. I hate ogres...Oh I'm a big bad Ogre I see the world as things that I eat or things I don' or worse yet the few things that can eat me. I mean you ever have a conversation with one of those brutes...it's worst when they are looking at you and they are hungry and slowly the puddle of drool coagulates on the floor around your nice shiny boots, but can you just say, "gotta go" No...coz if you turn your back on them, they grab you by the throat and stick you in their mouths. Which brings me to another thing...maybe the Bouncers should form a union because they obviously need better dental care. I mean Tunare! they all have such terrible halitosis. It is amazing that the microbes can even live in their saliva. I hate microbes, whenver I'm in Freeport I feel...

I don't know what on earth you are on about Zug...I very much dislike it when people start ranting about things that they have no basis for. ::Sigh:: what is this world coming to. Oh well, we have to forgive ogres, intelligence is not thier area of expertise unlike others...so I shall here by forgive any misunderstandings.
