My very first character was Thorongil, a human ranger of Surefall. He made it through 15 seasons before being retired. He was born shortly after the game was introduced, back in the day when zone maps were an unknown luxury and zone directions did not exist. I remember being sent a blind guild invite within minutes of making the character and not really knowing what to do. I left the guild about a week after, because their meetings were in some town called Qeynos and who the heck knew how to get there?!? (true -- vague map in the manual -- but Thor was not the brightest lad). On Thor's first big trip out to the west coast, he came across a group of Uber players (levels 24 or so) camped at the Catamount. He thought they must be pretty tough to be taking on such a beast. Thor also made the mistake of hitting the wrong key when talking to an NPC about a quest, and promptly getting pwned. Ah, those were fun days! I miss the lad sometimes but then I think of how badly his training points had been allocated given that I knew so very very little of the game mechanics at the time. Instead, Thorongil has migrated into becoming an occassional character in stories featured at the Songweaver's Tavern. Please share the tale of your first character. Do they still exist? What funny memories do you have?

Ellindar Starsong
Denizen of the plane of Ferrans Hope...Back in the days of his youth, you still had to buy armor from an armorer. So when he reached his twentieth season...one of the factors in his decision to become a combat bard was that he would receive a primary weapon (that and that nobody I asked had any idea at that point what the different paths did).
He toured Tunaria as part of the Elves of Rock tour playing engagements at BSI, the Last Inn, The Smiling Serpent, The other Last Inn (in Blackwater...he tried to tell them about "the Last Inn" in Mt. Hatespike but when they offered to "show" him the nearby dragon he acquiesced).
He is rather a handsome chap with long raven hair, and finds that his scarlet apparel has made the girls of all races swoon in his presence.
Though it is rather more and more infrequent ( he wouldn't want to let his fans down if he were to be eaten or turned to a were or something...) to see him adventuring, he does still frequent the many haunts of his youth. Always willing to share a drink or a story with anyone willing to listen/pay.
He has taken on the commission of chronicling the deeds of his new benefactors, the Ogres...Zugarok and Rhabuka.

My first character was my main, and still is level wise, but I play Slyfoot more now. Her name is Kheyn. She has quite alot of stories about her, but the most known is of her complications with the were infection. You can see the whole novel I wrote about it on the EQOA role playing forums. I have not decieded how to finish it yet, but it will come. I regret the length of the story, but it got kinda interesting when Corywn started putting in his share of events. It was fun. The story is called Pure Accusation.

My very first char is Jwiz i made him the first day i got the game and switched to a sk after 13 seasons i then took the sk to 50 decided i hated him and deleted him. Went back to Jwiz and started playin him again. Pre zone maps and zone sections trying to find your way anywhere was a blast i remember coming up on small towns and praying there was a coach. yep those were the good ole days.

Norri Copperbeard Dwarven Cleric. I think he made his 16th season before I deleted him. I almost never grouped. I kept putting points into Strength because I was frustrated at how lightly he hit things I remember all the blind guild invites in the early days. Not knowing where the hell anything was. Not having anything to go by but the map in the instruction book. I also remember nobody knowing how to tank and getting pwned when I did group, thats why I rarely did.

Lol. I wish I could have experianced the "good ol days." I didn't get EQOA untill well after the frontiers version came out, so I missed out on all the aimelessly wandering about, thinking that if you saw a hill giant or an elephant it was the coolest thing you had ever known. Ah well, entering the game where everybody knows everything, and I have a map that tells me the faction, coach connections, and zones all layed out, doesn't mean I am not having a blast with you guys ;D

Ellewynde, elf druid, made it to her 18 season. She was a whimp and a poor healer due to the fact that she had no idea what charisma was. All she knew was she could barely kill a much lesser experienced enemy. she was too scared to go anywhere .. the spiders made her skin crawl when she passed them in the fields. One day she met some more experienced folk near the Druk who helped her with a couple of armor quests. She mostly just followed them along to wherever it was they took her. she went swimming for what seemed an eternity.. south south and more south. She thought she would have to turn back for so much fear of the creatures that would eat her in one gulp.. but she managed to forge on to the pyramid where the lady and her pet stood. The one woman in the aiding party was a monk from queynos and ellewynde was facinated and became depressed in own weak abilities.. so now she is in a catatonic state of extreme depression. No one knows if she will ever be able to activate her mind and body to adventure again...

my very first char was a dwarf war named mynnicha, she was the cutest little blueberry in the world. i made her shortly after the game came out, i shared my fiances account. by the time i got her to lvl 25 my fiance decided he had better get me a game and machine so he could play the game. when he came home with the stuff i started selling and transfering stuff from all the chars i had. i cried when i took everything from my blueberry and sold what couldnt be traded and transfered them to another char. i remember wandering around looking for places using the map in the little book the game came with. died alot doin that but i got to see alot of the world. i also remember the laughs i got when i shouted look out here comes a blueberry. those were definately the days.

This is very similar to Rhabuka and I though in her case an Even Paladin (see what newbs we were). However Elwing still lives and on Ferran's Hope no less! Did you have hunnybuns and a goatee like Slyfoot's glamour? Rhabuka's even Canadian

Oh yes, Hunnybun Beardbearer. I am a female enchanter delf with blue hair and when I transform into a dwarf, I not only have lovely hunnybuns, but a rather large gotee! LOL! I crack up every time I think about it. Unfortunately I will not be able to show it to you because I am at college and wouldn't allow myself to bring my PS2 with me (to addicting ) But I love that short little penguin. Welcome abord our roleplaying guild. You sound like an awsome person to play with.
