"It's pretty simple isn't it? I thought the one place that she couldn't smell everyone would be klick anon? I was planning on heading out tonight and scouting around there first. Did I miss anything?" Phelan said with a sneer as he turned back to Aramis.

"Well if that is so are you going alone?...... Are you planning on taking Aramis with you?" Nikkii found a spot to sit an gaze Phelan awaiting his response.

"Of course I'm going alone, why endanger more people than need be? But if we are going to lull her out into an ambush it is best to scout out a few places before hand, right?" Phelan snapped.

"Well should I inform your wife or will you?" Nikkii shouted back at him before she stood up. "I hope you run into this night then and see if you made a wise choice... Aramis you might be fatherless again soon."
As soon as Nikkii finished her sentence Phelan had already grabbed her an held her arm akwardly behind her and braced her from moving using his other arm pressing her throat.
"You will not disrespect me anymore infront of my son... I will tell Naldany before I leave, now I will let you go and we will part here peacefully." Phelan whispered in her ear coldly. He loosened his grip an her and she was free of his grasp, but no sooner did he let her go than she did turn and was about to fire a bolt right at him. Aramis stood between her and Phelan a spell ready to contest his grandmother. Nikkii frowned at the boy's defiance but lowered her spell. She spun away and muttered curses under her breath as she walked away.
"Father I want to go with you.... I have a score to settle with her and I want to see you face a real swordsman... the one you never beat." Aramis said turning to Phelan.

"Aramis, it is too risky. It is risky for me. Come with your mother tomorrow. I have to go alone tonight, you won't be stealthy enough very few can be. I will be depending on everyone tomorrow." Phelan said. "We keep getting interruptted, I think this may be a futile exercise tonight. Why don't you go off to bed? I will see you tomorrow." Phelan said.
Aramis started to protest, but Phelan ushered him out the door. Once Aramis was on his way grumbling down the hall, Phelan headed to his room to speak to Naldany. When he entered the room she was already there waiting for him. He opened his mouth to speak, but she spoke first.
"Why you?!" She said fiercely.
"Because your beloved mother would have sent out our daughter!" Phelan snapped back. "Why is she still in charge anyways?"

"She doesn't have complete control anylonger I run the majority of the house now but she is still the figurehead here for the while..... what upset me most is I just herd your going out tonight....... looking for Keyra."
Anger boiled in her eyes as she watched Phelan just stand there.
"If you go ...... will you return to me? " Naldanywent into the bath chambers and closed the door. "My love.... tell me where you plan on looking... and know that Keyra isn't your only danger, there are humans too that might attack you."

"I'm not going to look for Keyra, I am going to look for a place where this can take place tomorrow. I swear I will return to you. Would you rather it be one of our children? Nikkii just tried to get me to take Aramis with me! She has made it so that I have no choice but to go."
Phelan said and he held Naldany in a long embrace.

She didn't want to let him go but it was something that must be done. She kissed him on the cheek an wished him well, as he collected the sack Nikkii had gave him and changed into more appropriate attire for running thru the forest.
"Phelan.... I will speak to Nikkii about this just be sure to atleast look in on Zealott before you go. She has grown quite fond of you in the last few days, just tell her something so she won't feel left behind."
Phelan nodded an gently closed the door. Aramis went to his chambers but had no intentions on letting Phelan leave him. He stuffed his bed to make it appear as though he was in bed and blew out the candles. Casting a spell of invisability he went back into the training hall an took two swords, now he made he was the the outer gate and waited to follow his father.

Phelan put the sack into his backpack once out side the door and cinched his sword belt down a bit tighter. He gripped the hilts of his swords and silenty hoped that this would not be the last time he left this place.
Phelan made his way quietly through the hallway to Zealott's room. There he paused outside the door and listened. No sound came through the door, so he eased it open as quietly as possible. He gently brushed her hair from her face and his eyes fluttered open.
"Daddy?"
"Yes little one. I have to leave for the night and I just had to come tell you good night." he said with a smile.
"Are you going out there after the Devil-elf?" She said her voice breaking.
"No no, I'm just going to prepare for tomorrow. Don't you worry your little head, I will be ok. I love you and now I have to go." Phelan said and kissed her forehead gently.
Tears ran down her cheeks as she threw her arms around him and clung to him.
"Come on now, I really have to go. I will be back before you can say Phelan Seladria." He said with a smile.
"Phelan Seladria" She said quickly.
Phelan chuckled and she laughed too.
"Be carefull Daddy."
"Ok, see you soon."
With that Phelan left. Phelan sped through the empty streets of Neriak fliting from shadow to shadow. His heart felt like it was trying to crawl out of his mouth and he couldn't swallow. He choked back tears as he left.
Before long the cool night air touched his face and his focus shifted to making way to Klick Anon. Phelan decided to take a horse from the stables, off into the night he went tearing out of Neriak.
The night was moonless and the stars were faint, a fell fog hung in the air. Time went by quickly. He knew that soon he would be approaching the area which they spoke of. Phelan grab a low branch as he rode by and pulled himself from the saddle. The horse continued along it's path. Phelan slipped into the canopy of the trees and made his way as silent as death toward his destination.
Soon the smell of oil reached his nose and he knew that it would be 10 times worse for Keyra here. He smiled, perhaps things will go according to plan. he thought.

Aramis was keeping up with his father pretty well until her had took a horse from the coach. Dropping his spell he tried to get a horse for himself, the coachmen was unwilling to loan a hourse to a child at first until Aramis gave him a generous sum of tunar. Now he had to catch up to Phelan, which was already had a good head start on him. The fog wasn't helping him much and he had unknowing awoke someone sleeping in a tree above where he had clumbsy passed by.
Keyra was startled by the stomping of the horse and with one sniff she knew who it was. "MMmmm that tasty child is looking for me." Keyra kept to the tree tops following the boy. Aramis was completely focused on trying to locate Phelan an unaware of the danger looming above him. Now he saw his father's horse an no Phelan, the trees had thinned out more and the stench of the gnomish lands filled his nose. Keyra was starting to posistion herself directly above Aramis now she was focused and her smell blocked. Phelan was within viewing distance of this being that Aramis had caught his eye, but just as he was going to chastize the boy he held fast once he saw Keyra near him and preparing herself to attack.

Naldany couldn't sleep worrying about her husband so she decided to check up on the children. She looked over Zealott first an tucked her in brushing her hair as she slept soundly. A few minutes later she was on her way to Aramis's chambers, hes door was hard to open at first but with a push it opened. His room was a mess andas she went to pull the sheet back from his head she found nothing but clothing.
"GAURDS..... ARAMIS IS MISSING!!!!!!!"

Phelan circled behind her quickly and quietly keeping the wind against his face as he approached. Phelan watched as her legs flexed to pounce and he launched forward cleaving the branch out from under her.
They both streaked towards the ground, Phelan tumbled and rolled out of the fall taking only a minor bruise. Though Keyra had been caught unaware she easily landed on her feet just as gracefully if she were dancing. Phelan squared off with her and she laughed upon seeing him.
"So I see your still looking for easy kills." Phelan said as he slowly paced about her, his walk was just as gracefull as hers.

"Your one to talk Keyra.... you was going to attack from behind." Phelan said as they still stalked each other.
Keyra giggled and briefly looked to the stunned boy Aramis. "Aww he was warned the other day that I was going to eat him all up.... He was so cute as a baby.... He came here to amuse me before I take him."
Phelan dashed at Keyra forcing her further from Aramis, there swords sending sparks into the night sky. It was a dance of death between the combatants one mistake could be the last one they made. Keyra was enjoying every moment of the fight getting her twisted pleasure from the rush of battle. Phelan kept his cool and did not over pursue Keyra with his attacks, instead he kept her guessing and waiting for her to be careless. They clashed and clashed again swords and kicks, neither using brute strength to gain the upper hand. Aramis watched in awe at Phelan's true skill an the grace Keyra showed but sitting back was not the way he felt he should be doing. He drew out his swords and casts his magic apon them, this however did catch both their eyes.
"Oh does he mean to assist you?..... Oh <giggles> you boys are too much..... this fun will never end." Keyra took a wild swing to back Phelan off and flipped back from him. Keyra motioned for Aramis to attack and being the arrogant kid he was he ran at her. Before he knew it Phelan had him by the collar of his shirt and tossed him back.
"This is my fight son...." Phelan said watching the elf.

Phelan gave him an extra kick to the chest to make sure Aramis was down and out of the way. Phelan rushed forward in a blur and threw a quick flurry of strikes at Keyra to make her focus back on him. She answered back with an even quicker flurry of strikes, some slipped through Phelan's defense but he managed to turn them out so they only pierced his cloak.
"Why are we doing this Keyra?" Phelan said between strikes. "Aren't you tired of fighting? Don't you ever just want to..." Phelan paused to make and intricate series of blocks. "... settle down somewhere? Why must you fight?" Phelan asked again as he pressed his attack forward.

"Because everyone wants to hurt me, I can never have my own place. " Keyra threw more slashes at Phelan that he again dodged. "You took lady Nikkii from me..... and ruined me....... you had me cast from her side. " Phelan knicked her arm tearing her shirt. "When I fight I am alive and nothing else matters expect seeing my enemy die but you I want to suffer, I wasn't going to go into Neriak for a few more months and kill the wizard girl your was fond of."
Kerya leaped back up into a tree an watched Phelan for a moment. She was planning on toying with the boy but Phelan will just interfere.
"Help me..... help me punish the gnomes for killing the forest. We will punish them for their crimes..." Keyra reached behind her back searching for a dagger to toss at Phelan.

Phelan had seen her delay like this before, she had no want to quit, but why was she stalling he thought.
"You can gladly have Nikkii back, she is nothing but a 2 cent tavern wench. Trust me I wish that she had never came back here and was still out tramping around with you. And you know that if you would stop the kiling that people would leave you be, I would gladly defend your right to that, but yet you choose death and destruction.
This isn't life, Keyra. Life isn't about exacting revenge, revenge will not bring you redemption. It will not justify what you have done and you will have to answer someday. I have died and am back again and I tell you that this senseless killing is going to cause you just as much pain as you have caused. Keyra stop the fighting an..." Phelan was cut short as he saw her hand jerk and caught a glimmer of silver in the night sky.
Phelan spun throwing his cloak before him hoping to catch the dagger. Keyra had anticipated this move, having fought Phelan before and the blade bit into his left thigh. It loged itself in deep and hit the bone.
Life stopped for a moment for Phelan, pain was the only thing he knew. His leg felt as if it were suddenly immersesed in fire. His heartbeat thundered in his ears and his leg pulsed with it. Phelan had visions of Naldany suffering through losing him again and now Aramis also.
That thought snapped him back into reality and time resumed. Keyra stood laughing advancing on Aramis. Damned boy, he's going to get us both killed, or worse. he thought as he made his legs drive him full speed toward Keyra.
With every twitch of the muscle the knife cut more tissue and his leg burned again with new pain. He gritt his teeth and continued on, accepting the pain and becoming part of it. Soon the wound was nothing more than a discomfort as he rushed toward her full speed, swords at the ready. Aramis' eyes must have looked relieved, because instantly Keyra realized that Phelan was on top of her about to strike. She danced away in a series of blocks and dodges.
"Send up a flare of color!" He shouted to Aramis, hoping that someone nearby would realize that they were in distress.
