Adaun looked in the mirror that was in the waiting room, she promptly fixed her blonde hair up into the customary pony tail she wore. She also touched up her face with some make up before the Mistress came in.
She shined her armor, and then stood in her customary spot and waited. She was pleased with her self this one had gone smoothly, there wasn't one problem, just sneak in while he was sleeping and kill the man and take his ring for proof.
Adaun was roused from her thoughts as the Mistress' faint footsteps could be heard down the hall. This was one of the rare occasions when they met. Usually Adaun just left the item of proof and then recieved payment the next night in the same place.
Adaun cleared her mind and focused her mind on the up coming assignment, it must have been important, it was the only time that they met when it was a serious issue. Not that the buisness that Adaun was in wasnt' serious, she took her job extremly seriously. Killing was nothing to do lightly, one could either do it the honorable way or the dishonorable way.
The door opened and in stepped the Mistress, she had hair the color of coal and eyes to match. Most people shrank under her gaze, but Adaun was different. Adaun just stood there placidly and bowed as she always did. It always gave the Mistress a sense of greatness. She knew that she was better than this orphaned whelp anywas. She had to be careful how to tell her about this next assignment. She didnt' know how to procede.
Did she tell Adaun that her brother was alive... would Adaun still do the task knowing that her brother was involved... The Mistress always aired on the side of caution.
"Adaun, I have another assignment for you."
" As you wish " Adaun bowed as she spoke.
"As you may have heard the Grand Defilers daughter was killed in the past couple of days and her body was on display. " She paused for effect " It seems that the same Male that killed her Father brought her back to life and stole her away... He is wanted for murder and it would be a great honor upon this house, if you brought him here in our name. "
" so it shall be, Mistress"
" One more thing...Be carefull he is no novice with a sword."
Adaun bowed and departed out the back door. Intersting, why would they be interested in that? She thought to herself as she headed for the coachman.

Adaun stopped after she walked out the door, why had the Mistress been so cryptic, Adaun had always had a name or a description before to go off of, now she had to trust the accounts of week old witnesses. Not a good way to start out.
She decided that since they were no longer in Neriak the best place to start would be Freeport. She knew that the kinslayer frequented there and that the kinslayer had been seen when the defiler was killed. Adaun had serious questions as to who actually killed who when it came to that. But alas she had a job to do, she would bring the man back to Neriak she was merely and instrument of a greater machine, then hand of law, not the decider.
If he is honorable maybe I shall drink with him before we engage in battle. I think I shall start out by seeking the kinslayer. She thought to herself.
The coachman eyed her as she approached. Adaun did not say anything about his lustful glances, she could kill him for such an act but then you would have to kill most men.
" I require one horse to take to Freeport "
" very well, it would be a shame to lose the like of you to the great beasts of the wild. "
" My life isnt' the one you should be concerned with " She answered and glared at him.
He merely shrugged and handed her the reins to a black stallion with a white mane. What a fine animal she thought to herself. She gracefully mounted the horse and began on her way, it wasnt' a short journey to Freeport.

As night fell she broke her pursuit and set up a camp, cant ride in the dark anyways, dont' want to break the horses leg. She found a cave near by, this will suffice she thought as she walked in. She found a firering, maybe a week or so ago old, as she looked around a bit more closey she could see where they had been blood spilled on the floor.
There was also a few cut bindidngs laying around, but nothing recent. Yet she felt as if though she knew this, this was familiar in some way. She decided that she must meditated upon these feelings.
Many hours passed with Adaun kneeling in meditation. Nothing of importance came to her except that calming feeling that always came from meditation. She rolled out her single blanket and fell asleep atop of it.
She would find her prey in the morning, she hoped.

Adaun awoke before sunrise, the sky was just begining to lighten and the stars and moon were still visable. She knelt upon the mat and fell into a deep state of meditation. A true warrior must look at the long path as well as the short, the begining and the end, she thought to herself. She focused on her up coming task trying to discern anything she could.
One image kept coming back to her was that of her crumbled and destroyed house, with her family members lying there dead. A painful but powerful memory. No matter what Adaun did to adjust her focus back to the task at hand this image kept springing into her mind and a face of a dark elf with long white hair.
The memory shook her from her meditation, strange she thought to herself, I havent' thought about my famliy in many years. Seeing that right now she wouldn't be getting past this memory she packed up her blanket.
" I shall find you today kinslayer, I have heard you to be honorable, I shall see you soon " she said looking the the south.
She mounted her horse and sprinted south toward the city of Freeport.

She rode the animal near to exhaustion. Only stopping to water the animal when absolutely nessicary. She rode through the hills past the many beasts that live in the hills. Every now and again she would rub the horses neck and assure him that he was doing a fine job.
Before the sun had hit its Zenith the city of Freeport had come into view on the horizon. Sweat covered her for the temperature had shifted dramatically between Neriak and Freeport. What a midden heap she thought as she looked at the city. A bastion of infamy you might say, she thought, good and evil roam here, if you belive in such concepts. Honor is what is important and not many here had such a notion.
She trotted the horse into the city and left it with the coachman. She turned to him before she left into the city.
" Tell me if you have seen any other Tier dal come through here in the past fort night " She asked with a chill calm voice.
" Yes, yes there have been quite a few through here lately, a male and a female, and two seperate females" He replied glancing around.
" Did one of them have blue hair? " She asked intensly
" um....er....yes, but I didnt tell you"
" Of course" she said and bowed before turning to leave.
Oh kinslayer you are here somewhere, now to find you. She thought to herself. Adaun pulls from her bag a quil and ink and quickly writes to neatly penned notes and hangs them in the taverns.

THE NOTES READ AS FOLLOWS
To the most Honorable one and to whom I study. I seek you out for information, you of the house that I will not speak of.
Kind to those who know you
Ingenious so I have been told
Notorious by some accounts
Solemn and humble aslo I have heard said about you
Likened to a paradox by some, you know of who I speak
Anger creeps deep below your fine calm surface
You and I should talk
Excellent and trust worthy I belive you to be
Return to the place you favor most, for this is how I know you would find this note.
I shall be waiting, humbly for your arrival.
House of Seladria

Adaun walked back in the main inn, the tavern part. she had been gone nearly and hour and hoped that she hand't missed her, Kinslayer. She walked to the back corner and took a seat, she sat her helmet on the table and watched the front doors.
Soon she would have the information nessecary to bring this male back to Neriak, surely he would be some distance away and she was eager to get on her way. Considering all the places he could have ran too. He had a weeks head start on her, but she would catch him. His trail might be cold now, but she would catch him.
Surely the Kinslayer would know at least where he headed to, but she would know more things too. Does he travel with anyone, on foot or by horse, people are amazed at how much they know when asked the right questions. Adaun needed answers, she had never failed a task yet not in her 16 years of employment.

The hours rolled by and the customers came and went and Adaun sat waiting paitently for the Kinslayer. Come on Kinslayer I know you are here... Every day extra spent here is another days lead he has on me. I guess the good thing is he has no idea he is the prey. She thought to herself as she sipped at her self made tea.
" Hey! You there girl!!" came a shout from over by the bar.
Adaun didnt' look, she was still scanning the people coming in the door. She heard the bar tender, but she hoped she wouldnt' have to do anything durastic to shut him up.
" Hey you Damned Dark Elf... You can't just sit there and order hot water all night, if your not buying anything GET OUT!! "
Adaun couldn't ignore this insult, she carefully put down her cup and almost faster than the eye could regiseter threw herself into a roll that went into a flip into a handspring bringing her up right in front of the bar. Her hand on her sword, she wouldnt' draw it unless he was to die.
" Now sir, first of all if you would like money for your space all you have to do is ask, you should be careful about how you speak to people, you could be offending someones honor. Second you should know better than that to talk to one of the Tier Dal or you may just loose that ugly head of yours. Now leave me be or I will kill you. "
Adaun gives him the slightest bow and then goes back to her table.
Many people are openly watching her now. Some glaring some wide eyed with fear. Then there were the few men who had that look in their eyes. Adaun just ignored them all and went back to sipping her tea.

Adaun sat at her table and the night ebb on, minutes turned to hours and hours in to a good portion of the night. Kinslayer, where are you? She thought to herself.
Adaun noticed the only other Tier dal in the tavern kept glancing at her and sipping what appeared to be tea. Interesting she thought to herself, but not the Kinslayer, Kinslayer has blue hair. She put her helmet on her head and elbowed her way to the bar, where she dropped a bag of tunar in front of the barkeep. His eyes widened in suprise, there had to be at least 1000 Tunar there.
"You see a blue haired Tier dal in here I want to know about it. " She said quite enough so only he could hear it. She turned to leave but then turned back around. " Oh, if I find out differently they will be using that money to dig you a grave, understand? "
The barkeep nodded and smiled as Adaun left. Adaun shook her head as she left the noisey tavern people astounded her. She decided the best place to stay was out in a cave not far away from town, it would serve its purpose for the night.
Adaun meditated before going to bed as she always did. When she closed her eyes her dead brothers face kept springing to mind. She had forgotten about her family all together, she felt as if though she had let them die completely by forgetting. Not a way to honor the dead but then again in Neriak if your house is gone, they never existed in the first place.
Growing up as an orphan in Neriak hadn't been easy. She had been beaten and raped more times than she could count. No her family held no warm place in her heart, they weren't there to help her, to shelter her. Her family was the cause of her problems. Luckily for her she had found a calling doing other houses dirty work for them. Finally she had been employed for one house, the Mistresses house. One day Adaun hoped that she may one day be accepted into the house, but for now she was just Adaun, of the dead house of Seladria.
Shaking her head she tried to clear her thoughts. She needed to meditate, she was a warrior distraction cost people thier lives in combat. Again, the childish face of her long dead brother kept popping into her head, his white hair so unique in thier family.
Adaun fell asleep with her sword in her hand, just as a precaution, something was amiss. She fell into a deep and dreamless sleep.
She awoke when the morning beams hit her red eyes. Time to find the Kinslayer, maybe she has ran from our meeting, but time is something I have a lot of. she thought as she stalked out of the cave.

Adaun headed to the inn where she had spent the previous night. She saw a woman with a scared face burst through the door and race up the stairs. Just a few moments later she came back down just as fas as she had gone up.
She scrawled soemthing on a piece of paper, briefly talked with the innkeep and then ran out the door.
A short while later a beautiful Tier dal female came down the stairs. Adaun recognized the girl, that was the Defiler's, well former Defiler's daughter. Could it be that her prey was still here?
As she finished her thought, a male Tier dal came down behind her grasping her hand and embracing her. He glanced at her, this was the male she had come here for. As she stood to approach she was blasted with an image of her long dead brother, then she realized the white hair and the eyes along with that smile. It was Phelan...but how? She thought to herself.

She sat back down and tried to make sense of this. He left me for dead? It was the only thing she could think about.
The mistress would be slightly dissapointed if he wasn't alive, but revenge was hers. She smiled wickedly, Phelan glanced back at her as he walked out the door.

"kaly, you need to run....right now, go to a safe place I can find you. If I haven't found you by nightfall leave without me. "
"But...What..." Kal started to reply. She felt his fear and his intense determination. He knew something she didn't. She kissed him goodbye and left.
Phelan tried to find an unpopulated area, he had a feeling that a fight was coming in just a few minutes. That female Tier dal, she looked familiar, very familiar. He thought to himself. The look in her eye told Phelan of the intent in her heart. He spun around and drew his swords, this would have to do, just outside the west gate.
The woman can darting around a wicked smile on her face. She was wearing armor Phelan could now see, it was under the dark red clothing she wore over it. Aramis, be with me, he thought silently.

" Where is your wench, oh dear Phelan? " Adaun said her voice dripping with scorn.
" I would very much like ripping her apart in front of your eyes. " She said smiling that typical Tier dal smile without joy, it was a smile of murderous rage.
"Oh, you don't remember your own little sister?! Well that is alright because your little sister remembers you." She said it as if her words could kill him.
"Adaun?!! " Phelan exclaimed stunned.
"YOU LEFT ME FOR DEAD!!" She screamed drawing her single slender straight blade.
" Adaun I was six years old, all of you looked dead...How did you survive?" He asked, he felt his heart sink, he knew that this would be the battle Aramis spoke of.
" Oh, survive I did; through the countless rapes and beatings, I found my place in Neriak, dear brother. While you were bedding your tavern wench. " Her words dripped from her mouth like acid.
" I wasnt' "bedding a tavern wench" little one. I wasn't even in Neriak. " He said as his anger began to slide through his calm exterior.
" YOU LEFT ME FOR DEAD, YOU ABANDON ME!!! You dishonored your family by leaving me. I will help you find honor in death for you have had none in life. Have no doubt you will die... You ...and your wench. " She screamed at him as she sprung into an attack.

All to easy she thought to herself as raised her sword back for what she thought would be the death blow, look at him totally defenseless, I am glad to be done with him, his living is a mockery of me.
She landed and brought her sword down in the perfect arc, a loud metallic ringing filled the air as somehow his blades where suddenly in front of hers. Phelans swords caught the shattering blow, Adaun was stunned for a moment, a moment to long.
Phelan hooked her left foot, her lead foot with his and pulled her off balance. At the same time he dropped his block and delivered a devestating elbow to her face.
Tears welled up uncontrollably in her eyes and pain consumed her. Adaun was no stranger to pain though and kept her wits about her. She backed up flailing her sword in front of her to keep her attacker at bay.
She recovered much more quickly than she let on, she grabbed one of her throwing knives from her belt while still staggering around, all a sham now. She brought her arm back and then forward with lightening quickness. She watched it hit home with a small stream of blood start down his snow white shirt.
She followed right behind the knife delivering blow after blow, but Phelan's spectacular swords always seemed to be there to intercept her blade. He pressed her working in amazing quickness testing her armor, there was no way Adaun could keep up with his speed, even injured he was faster than her.
She had been in situations like this before, but none so personal. Hate welled up in her and her head spun. She could feel the adrenaline rush through her, every beat of her heart surged in her ears. Phelan pressed in again this time with a cunning maneuver that she couldn't block, catching her right above her left eye and pulling down the the corner of her lip. Blood flowed heavily from the wound.
Adaun fell back again, pain racked her and naseau flooded her. She fought back the pain and charged in catching Phelan with her shoulder. He stumbled back some and Adaun dropped into a sweep kick and took his legs out from under him. She smiled as she again went for the death blow, somehow he swept her sword aside and was on his feet again.
Adaun was beginning to belive maybe she had errored on facing him one on one. No time to second guess things now, she thought as she narrowly got her block up in time. She pressed forward with several horizontal slashes followed by a diagonal slash down and then back up and then straight back down.
Phelan staggered back as a bloody line appeared across his torso and two diagonal lines appeared next to each other across his chest. Adaun smiled and then her head spun, her legs began to feel like wet noodles.
Confusion spread across her face untill she looked down and saw the puddles of blood around the two combatants. She was bleeding out, she knew she had to land face down in the sand to clot the blood so she wouldnt' die. She made one last move before colapsing, she scoop up sand with her sword and flung it at Phelans face, which had turned rather white and he was searching for breath.
Adaun knew it wouldnt' be long and he would be dead, if that knife comes out of his chest his lung will collapse she thought herself, congratulating herself on a job done right, even if it wasnt' finished yet. She dropped face first into the sand and ground her face into the hot sand. Darkness consumed her as she rolled onto her back.

Adaun found herself standing in Neriak, she had no idea how she had gotten there or why she was. Then she realized that everything looked way to big or she had gotten shorter. She walked around a few corners toward the Mistress' house and froze. She saw the distinctive crest of House Seladria in front of what used to be her house.
Her house hadn't been there in at least 18 years. What sorcorey is this? she thought to herself. She reached for her sword only to realize there wasn't one on her back. She also understood that she was a little girl again. She headed for the house as a horde of Tier Dal rushed by her.
The cloaked figures began raining fireballs and lighting against the building. Her family and others of the house began pouring out to fight. Blood ran freely on the ground as the battle raged. Someone ran into Adaun knocking her to blood soaked ground amongst the rubble. Her head smacked hard against the stone and her head swam into blackness.
When she awoke there was nothing left except the aftermath of the carnage that had taken place. Bodies and Body parts were strew amongst the rubble. In a matter of hours her life had changed forever. She hurried away down an alley, she knew that if she was seen this day, she would share the fate of her family and house.
She huddled in the dark alley praying to Innorukk that this day would end. When she opened her eyes there was a tall and rather large tier dal male leering at her. She closed her eyes and prayed he would leave her be, she couldnt' ask for help from anyone. The man approached and Adaun fought the best she could, but after only a few traded blows she slipped into unconciousness.
Adaun awoke grogily as Phelan and some woman were departing. She half thought about starting again with Phelan right there and reached for her sword as she brought herself up to one knee. It was gone. She silently cursed herself, he was an accomplished swordsman the best she had ever encountered, she hadn't ever lost. Rage boiled in her blood, she would kill him and she would prove who was stronger and better also.
As she stood she realized that there were Freeport guards standing near her waiting with her sword. They handed it to her and pointed out the west gate.
" But I have a long journey I require a horse " She told them.
" Then I will escort you " Said the guard on the left.
Adaun shrugged and walked in silence to the coachman and got a horse bound for Neriak. She would return for Phelan, she needed answers from the Mistress first.
